Price for new bugaboo bee?

Hi all,
after a successful trip to John Lewis we've now decided on the Bugaboo Bee for our 1st DC due in August.
I don't want to buy it online or 2nd hand as I want somewhere I can take it back to if anything goes wrong with it - whats the cheapest price anyone has seen it in shops? I just don't want to pay over the odds from John Lewis....

Thanks!

well,if i were you,i'd look on line, find the cheepest quote, and then get mothercare to pricematch it Smile

Lullaboo Baby were the cheapest a couple of months ago. I don't know what prices are now. But price matching is always a good option ;)

Honeydragon · 03/05/2011 22:37

I got mine at MC got the to pricematch Lullaboo Baby at £409. If you get them to match online you get a £10 giftcard.

If Mothercare price match you can't use a discount code.
You get better negotiation in store though. I pointed out that I wasn't getting my voucher so asked if they'd match Lullaboos 5% off as well as deducting £10.00, meeting me halfway on the MC 10% over £120 and they agreed Smile

This took the Bee Plus inc hood down from £479 to £378, and I have the MC 5 year guarantee Wink

Will mothercare price match online prices though? John Lewis said they would only pricematch store prices?
If so, i'll definitely check that out and go in to my local MC.
Thanks! Grin

here is mothercares price match policy,it says here that they will match from competitors websites, just not ebay and the other auctiony opnes Smile

They do it online with online prices (except auction sites) no problem.

In store they have more discretion, but that can also mean they won't do as good a deal sometimes. In the one in Birmingham, a woman said they couldn't price match kiddicare or kiddisave. It turned out that was a load of rubbish, it's just she wouldn't do it.

If I were you, I'd find your best deal online, making note of any extra discounts like honeydragon found. Then go into mothercare, start chatting to someone, see how friendly they are, then go in for the price match! If they seem unfriendly/unhelpful they probably won't do such a good deal. Also go in on a quiet day/time when they have time to chat and also may be more inclined to just get the sale, even if they don't get so much money.

You could always try it at John Lewis. I've heard some people managing it with online prices. Basically tell them either they do the price or you'll get it from MC and they might go for it. The JL in Solihull has lovely staff and they're much more receptive to offers!

Good luck! Smile

I would rather go to JL as i've got loads of vouchers from my wedding! Not sure if Oxford Street one will go for it but I guess I can always try!
Do they sell the Bee+ though, because I didn't even know that one existed until I look aroundonline - the woman in JL just referred to it as a 'Bee'?

I second what Saioirse said, I deliberately went to Mothercare when I knew they'd be quiet and waited till the store was empty. I also went when I had the cash to pay then and there as its human nature to get excited about a big sale, rather than a casual enquiry.

I also got John Lewis to price match the online price too - although don't forget if you pm lullaboo it is actual store so JL will honour it. The main reason I chose MC was they have more branches and are closer to me if I do have problems.

Ishani · 07/05/2011 23:07

Go to JL Mothercare aren't brilliant with their customer service if something goes wrong anyway, JL are second to none.

beamel · 09/05/2011 14:33

We got our Bee plus from John Lewis (love it !). Agree with the previous poster - I have more confidence in their customer service than Mothercare.
