my dd is coming up to 6 months old and I need a lightweight pushchair, it also has to fit in my Mini ;)

I've heard that the seat unit of the zapp xtra doesn't fold up so IMO that defeats the whole point of the zapp being small etc. Personally I wouldn't go for that, definitely go for the BJCM.

BJCM is fantastic!

Folds so easily in one piece, good sized wheels for walking, compact, large seat for big children, plenty fo storage space in the basket and on the back of the seat and the hood is great for sunny days or rain showers when you have forgotten the raincover and it lays completely flat for naps.

The Zapp Xtra is supposed to be quite dissapointing due tot he 'reversible seat' not sitting up in rear facing mode as well as the fact that theere is little storage space and limited recline and yes you have to take the seat unit off to fold which makes it less compact.

Hi!

I just got my Quinny Zapp Xtra delivered today - but have no experience of any other prams as this is my first baby (and she's not born yet). We went for it because we have a Nissan Micra and a small house so also have space issues. We really wanted the Bugaboo Bee Plus but it was just too much money and this seemed like a good alternative. The shopping basket seems fine to me and larger than quite a few others I've seen. The other posters are right - it only has 2 positions in the rear facing mode so it doesn't sit fully up, so it's more suitable for newborns and babies than toddlers in that position (when the baby is a toddler we'll turn it round and then there's a fully upright position). They're also right that you have to take the seat off but at least that means the chassis, which folds down really small, will leave more room in the boot. That actually clinched it for us. It's great that the Maxi Cosi car seat fits with it, too, and it's pretty easy to use and assemble (and deassemble). I'm really pleased with how lightweight it is, and with the way it turns on a penny.

But, as I say, I am a totally inexperienced poster, so this is just my (probably useless!) twopennyworth!

Just a tip, if you interchange between the seat and car seat, find a very secure bag to hang the adaptor bits onto your pushchair so that you don't lose them. We lost them first in the house but found them, but in the snow and dark the pushchair got knocked over and hubby hadn't pulled the drawstring on the bag where we kept them tied on the frame, which resulted in us losing the adaptors for good. They cost me something like £30 to replace. It's a really daft part of the design TBH. They should have attached the adaptors permanently by strings or similar to the frame. I have to say it got sold soon after because I couldn't afford to keep replacing them but wanted to use the car seat and normal seat interchangeably. I got a Baby Jogger City Mini and it's much superior in every way.
