Apologies to anyone fed up with reading my pushchair threads!

Right. I have a 9 month old DD, in a rear facing pushchair. I want to replace it because it's not good for on grass or the beach.

I've been considering: Easywalker, Teutonia and BJCE. Of these I've seen the Easywalker and BJCE in the flesh.

I would have happily gone for any of these, bar a collywobble about keeping DD rear facing. I think she prefers it, and I certainly do. This isn't a PFB thing, honest guv, I enjoy being able to see her, and find it easier to keep her entertained if she's getting bored going round a shop, for example.

The Teutonia does forward and rear facing, but there aren't many of them to pick up second hand, and we don't have the budget for new. Also read a post on here that mentioned it wasn't great for on the beach. The tyres are air chamber, not pneumatic, maybe that makes a difference?

A couple of lovely MNers have suggested the Jane Slalom Reverse and the Cameleon. There seem to be very few reviews out for the Jane, and their website is terrible, so it's hard to see it in action. I particularly want to see the fold. Can't afford a Cameleon new, and would need to also buy the terrain wheels.

So, I want something that will last, she's a big 'un, so a large seat is important. I loved the Easywalker and the BJCE, and both are a good size. No second baby planned so we don't need to worry about second seat attachments etc. Perhaps I need to stop worrying about the rf angle and just buy a bloody pushchair that I like! Grin

Hiya,
Sorry not read your entite message as I am about to go to bed. I had the Jane Slalom Reverse for my ds who is just under 6 months now.

I used it at first with a capazo carrycot, and it was fab, really easy to push and I loved it. Then I put the seat unit it, he must of been about 3 months then. I used it like that for all of 10 mins and decided to sell it on.

I found the seat to be quite small, and ds is a big boy and I could just see it wasn't going to last him very long. Also because he was young I had the seat flat, when I put the hood down I couldn't see him, which annoyed me. I also found the harness fidley and a pain to adjust as the shoulder straps was one long one threaded through both holes, rather than two seperate ones IYKWIM.

I used it for about 12 weeks(with carrycot), and didn't need to fold it down in that time as I never used it in the car. When I sold it, from what I remember it folded quite easily, but the lady who brought it had to take the front, and one of the back wheels off to get it into her car.

It can be folded with the seat facing either way, but folded better when the seat was facing forward. I also found the seat difficult to change from rear to forward facing.

Anyway if you want to know anything else about it, feel free to ask. Everyone is diffrent though and the lady I sold it too loves it. I am now using a infinity jeep, which is very similar to the bugaboo's but alot cheaper, and the only problem I have with that is I would like the hood to be bigger. HTH

The Elite does'nt rear face though.

I had an Emmaljunga cerox for the first 18m with DS and loved it even though ti was HUGE! It folded in one piece and rather than the seat unit reversing it was just a case of flipping the handle over which was great.

It did'nt have siwvel wheels though but was supoer light weight to push and we took it to the beach quite a few times as well as walks in the woods,

But to be honest any classic stye pushchair would be okay I would think.

Mutsy urban rider has 4 big pneumatic wheels, seat is forward and rear facing. But it's quite big and doesn't fold rf. Take the seat unit off, fold the chassis and the seat unit lays quite neatly on top. There are always a few on eBay. It's big and bouncy and good for all terrain.

Or if you aren't fixed on rf after all, out n about nipper is really very good. 3 pneumatic wheels, extremely light, I can push my big 3 year old on the footpath using one finger!! Needs one or two hands to push it on the beach or rough terrain though!

Thanks everyone.

auntypurple, your review has sealed it for me! A small seat is no good, I want this to be the last pushchair I buy!

diva and collie, I'm going to see if I can find a Mutsy and a Nipper to look at in real life. I'm a bit scared of an Emmaljunga in case I can't get it into the house (narrow front door with a turn) or, more importantly, a coffee shop! Grin
