Want to sell my travel system - where can I get a good price?

It was bought as a gift, and it has all parts, buggy, carrycot, carseat and base, accessories, footmuffs etc etc, is in good condition, used for less than a year, lovely and clean. (It's a Chicco Trio for Me.)
Now, I know I'm not going to make a profit here, but when I looked on e-bay for finished auctions, they were selling at around £70 on average. Ones with a reserve price or a higher starting price weren't selling.
Would this be standard? Or is e-bay maybe not the best place, given that people (well, me Grin) go on there to find bargains? Also, it's not a well-known brand really, I suppose.
If not e-bay, where else could I try to sell it? And what kind of price should I ask for it?

It sells for £350-400 new.

I would try your local nearly new sales etc... only things like the sought after brands seem to sell well on ebay (Quinny,Phil and Ted etc)
I have a Graco travel system I need to sell and they don't really sell on ebay so I am taking it to our nearly new in a few weeks. Or try your local paper, usually sell well in there.
How much are you after? I would have thought £70 is quite a good price for it tbh

www.pushchairtrader.co.uk, you can set your own price. May £100 tops?

DewinDoeth · 15/02/2011 13:32

OK, I might try my local paper actually! I think you're right about e-bay - it's not a big enough/sought after brand.
I was thinking of something in the range of £150, to pay for a new one! Smile
Do you reckon that's unrealistic?

I was given some really good advice on here about selling prams. Aim to get a third of what you paid for it and anything more as a bonus. This has worked well for me to place starting bids and hasn't been far wrong so far.

I also list offering the car seat for free if required as not everyone wants to buy a second hand carseat, this sometimes works in my favour as people bid a little extra as they think they are getting something for free,

try your local facebook pages too.

Dewin - I would try, you never know your luck, honeydragons advice is good about 1/3 though. But if you don't ask...! Good idea about the car seat. Good luck.
