Uppababy Vista and London buses

Does anyone have an Uppababy Vista? We've really fallen in love with it, but we're a bit worried it's too wide for public transport.

It's here.

Has anyone ever used an Uppababy on London buses? We will be living here for the first few months with the baby, and we mostly use buses to get around. After that, we'll be moving and will have a car, so it will be used more for walking/wandering the shops, etc.

I'm really just wondering if it fits down the bus aisle! We're going to measure, but wanted some first-hand experience if possible.

Also, if you have the Uppababy, do you like it? We like it because it's rear facing, comes with all its accessories, has a huge basket, has a rumble seat for future siblings, adjustable handle, etc etc and is cheaper than the Bugaboos.

Just a quick question Suzie what has London buses got to do with the Uppababy when you live in Nottingham lol

Nothing to me...I was interested in an Uppababy so joined the thread...Though i did buy a Britax B Smart that's basically the same frame as a Vista and it was massive so i wouldn't feel comfortable taking one on a bus very often.

I think Uppababy are at Excel for the Baby Show this weekend. They are bound to be doing offers.

You can get on the back doors with a pram. Just ask the driver and they will open the doors for you. The only problem with a wider pram is if there is one on there already, and you won't fit two on.

I've bitten the bullet and bought a Mica (silver) Vista...Should arrive on Wednesday or Thursday...I can't wait...Sold my Frog yesterday, now need to sell the Cam and Bee Plus.

My Vista in Mica finally arrived an hour ago after 2 hopeless delivery attempts by DHL...Eventually getting Pramworld to complain to the depot, got the deliver guy to return today, and actually knock on my front door rather than leave notes on the back gate anyone could have taken...It's all set up waiting for my DD to wake up from a nap so i can take it out for it's maiden voyage!!!

Hi, I just wanted to come update my thread for people searching in the future.

First off, I love the Vista. It's gorgeous, my DD loves it, the basket is huge. I love how high the seat sits, it's easy to fold, the bassinet is such good quality and was a godsend when she was a newborn. The ride is smooth, and it's easy to push.

The downside: it's really obnoxious on London buses. It may just be me getting used to having a pram on buses at all, but I find it too big. We are moving soon and will no longer be using public transport, so it was still the right choice for us. If I were staying in London I would probably be selling it for a Bee, even though the Bee doesn't have a bassinet (for next baby).

On most buses I have to get on the back door, and it's always a tight fit with another pram. I would have the same problem with the Cameleon. I'm not sure a pram exists that is small enough for buses yet has a bassinet!

All in all I'm very happy with our Vista, and I'm glad we bought it. I love pushing it, and my DD loves it. But if you're looking for a pram and all of your travel is on buses, I'd get a Bee and just use a sling in the newborn days.

(the bee has a cocoon for Newborns,so you can use it from birth)

BUT i LOVE my vista,'tis perfect.Grin
