If it is so good and ideal for public transport, why are so many on ebay etc already?

I am umming and aahing as dd likes to be rf to chat but it reclines in that position apparantly.

And

has anyone used it fine on the bus without getting pissed of that its a two pice two handed fold?

I think the reason why there's so many on eBay is because buggy addicts want to give them a try out...Then sell on whilst the resell value is high.

Honeydragon · 01/02/2011 16:15

Yes, and then they don't keep them, I want to know why

OP posts:
suzie38 · 01/02/2011 17:35

Because their husbands are fed up of all the buggies...They sell them to buy another one out they want to try...Lots of people have regular Zapps and like them so i can't see the Xtra being much different to push just not quite as easy to fold being a 2 parter...Someone i know bought a brand new Bee Plus, the seller had hidden it from her husband but felt guilty so sold it...I'm guessing the same with a few Xtras...Luckily my husband doesn't mind my obsession at the moment.

Honeydragon · 01/02/2011 18:37

So it might be worth giving a go I love try a bee out but can't afford £200 for second hand if it's no good

Is the zapp parent facing recline ok for a active 1 year old that likes to chat?

OP posts:
5inthebed · 01/02/2011 18:39

The Zapp Xtra doesn't sit upright when RF. It only lies flat or slightly reclines.

My friend has one, the hood is much better than the normal Zapps, it's just the recline while RF that lets it down.

Honeydragon · 01/02/2011 19:36

Do you think that would annoy a child able to sit up and walk in rf?

I just don't think I'm convinced by the bee Sad

I do like my Streety's seat arrangement but want something a little lighter and feel like a change.

OP posts:
5inthebed · 01/02/2011 20:13

Yeah I think that would annoy a child 12 months +. I was contemplating gettig one for my son until I realised it didn't sit upright.

Honeydragon · 01/02/2011 20:16

I don't know what to get!

OP posts:
5inthebed · 01/02/2011 22:03

So what are you after? Just a lightweight rf pram?

IMO Zapps aren't great everyday prams anyway, more of a car pram.

I'm not a streety fan either.

Honeydragon · 01/02/2011 22:24

I do like the streety but dd prefers rf and I find it a bugger to fold on the bus as I have to swap the eat.

I have a vigour + and I love this more than bugaboo frog / cam, so I want something light and rf.

With ds I had a combi with flippy handles but they have disappeared now, no where stocks them Sad

I keep wondering whether a bee is really worth £200 second hand as a bus / car pram. A lot of people have said they are hard work.

I'd import a combi if I knew how Grin

OP posts:
suzie38 · 01/02/2011 22:31

There was a post here about Combis with flip over handles or very similar...A few people email the manufacterer but to no avail...I'd have loved one to replace my Citisport.

Honeydragon · 01/02/2011 22:41

They were rickety as he'll but great for in the car and on the bus

OP posts:
AnAngelWithin · 02/02/2011 14:09

I have one and i keep smaking my shins on the edge of the seat when its facing me Sad I really really wanted this buggy as well. It doesn't sit up fully when its facing you either. the Hood is a bit flimsy. I am pretty disappointed really.

ENormaSnob · 02/02/2011 14:13

The bee is great and worth the price tag IMO

Honeydragon · 02/02/2011 16:08

Enorma

Is it a pita to swap the seat around? Also I've noticed on ebay a lot of the older (2009) ones state "new chassis", does this mean they break easy?

OP posts:
suzie38 · 02/02/2011 16:18

Well my DD forward faces so if i turn the seat around i need to get the instructions out as i think you can break the seat unit if you don't do it correctly...Plus you need to take the baby out...I briefly had a Britax B Smart and the seat was so easy to turn around...Think Sola and Oyster's seats change round very easily.

Honeydragon · 02/02/2011 16:28

Love Britax want something small though, I thinks its between crappy zapp and annoying bee though...

OP posts:
ENormaSnob · 02/02/2011 21:51

I thought the 2009 chassis were ok and it was the one before that had a few problems?

I only ever used mine as rear facing but had heard that it wasn't easy to change around.

LDNmummy · 03/02/2011 11:24

I have done a lot of research on this myself, and after watching countless youtube reviews and seeing them on the street...

I decided that Quinny make unstable rickety pushchairs, even the buzz which I saw a woman pushing yesterday was awful to look at in action. Plus zero storage! Would keel over if you put a nappy bag on the back of the zapp and generally sucks apart from the great size. I wanted one as I live in London where space is precious, but will only get one when I plan my next long trip abroad and need a small pushchair for travelling. Actually I might get one on the cheap for quick trips into town but not for everyday use.

Thought the bee looked great, small, rear facing option too. But... Terrible tires and I think my little one would grow out of it quickly and I don't want to keep purchasing. Plus it does look fragile, in Islington a load of mothers use them and though not as rickety as Quinny, still not sturdy enough in my opinion.

I'm going for the city mini at the moment but I hope I can find something equally as great with a rear facing option.
