Is there such a thing as a three wheeler travel system
DitaVonCheese · 27/01/2011 21:56
Other than the Mothercare Urban Detour (car seat doesn't fit in my car)? Any suggestions appreciated :)
BelfastBloke · 27/01/2011 22:07
What is a travel system? I used to know but have forgotten.
A Maxi Cosi Car seat can fit on a Phil & Teds 3-wheeler. The attachment is only 20 squid or so.
BikeRunSki · 27/01/2011 22:08
I had a P&T Sport with a Maxi Cosi Cabriofix, like BelfastBloke said.
GwendolineMaryLacey · 27/01/2011 22:09
iCandy Apple jogger. I have the four wheel version and love it. Takes the Maxi Cosi car seat.
Particles · 27/01/2011 22:10
I used to have one, a Britax? I think the model was called Vigour?
DitaVonCheese · 27/01/2011 22:31
Thanks, will check them out. Should have said they should be a few years old so I can pick them up cheaply on ebay
Belfast by travel system I mean buggy type thingy that you can also fit a car seat on. Hope I've got that right!
Hmm, ideally it should also be buggy board compatible ... :)
DirtyMartini · 27/01/2011 22:34
Oh, not buggy board compatible officially though - but have seen people use one with no probs.
Kat3L · 27/01/2011 22:43
Our Jane travel system is 7 years old now. It's still going strong and about to be put into use with DC2, due in March. Our model is called the 360 Powertrack - as it's got 360 degree steering - something that can be an issue with some three wheelers. We found it pretty good in all its modes - pram, carseat and pushchair etc. There are other Jane models too and I think I've seen a good selection of them all on eBay. I think Quinny also do a three wheeler travel system, might be worth checking out? Happy hunting!

Shinny buzz - but don't buy one. Now that ds is a toddler it's v heavy to push and front wheel doesn't swivel on shiny floors ie shopping centres also my automatic unfolding thing doesnt work any more even DH finds it a struggle to unfold now. Loved it 4 1st yr tho
DirtyMartini · 27/01/2011 22:52
Oh, I have heard this about the not swivelling on shopping centre floors; I'm surprised because ours is fine for that, it's really good to push. And so was the one we had for previous dc - we have had two Buzzes over the years. First one was used to within an inch of its life (I am a heavy user of buggies, walk a long way most days) so we replaced it for DD.
Clearly though, from what I've read, lots of people do have that problem with the shiny floors, same as you - we've been lucky I guess
BikeRunSki · 27/01/2011 23:34
I hated my Buzz. Too big to be useful around town, too small and wimpy to be useful in the countryside. Badly built, awkward handling. Rubbish folding.
EdwardorEricCantdecide · 29/01/2011 22:01
My friend also has a buzz and has same prob with wheel but neither of us got the problem till dcs were bout 1yo and up. I suspect it's to do with weight distribution but not sure?
I justified paying the price for the buzz as I would use for next DC if/when I get another but think I'll buy a new one now
MollysChambers · 29/01/2011 22:04
The Mamas and Papas primo viaggio (sp?) car seat clips on to their (fab) three wheeler.
DitaVonCheese · 29/01/2011 22:11
Thanks again
I have had a good look at the Buzz before but put off by lots of negative reviews and I am a bit picky so don't want to risk it.
Have a M&P three-wheeler at the moment which I do like but can't remember what it's called and not sure that it takes a car seat (that would make my life easier though!).
DitaVonCheese · 29/01/2011 22:14
Ooh, think we must have the Sport and M&P website says it takes a car seat. Ours is a few years old though so not sure whether that is true ... ? Bit excited but not enough to trek out to the car and look
MollysChambers · 29/01/2011 22:17
Mines a few years old too. Lift up the fabric on the seat and there are wee clip bits that flip up and then the car seat locks on to that.
DitaVonCheese · 29/01/2011 22:21
Ooh yay! If it were summer I would actually go and have a look but I am a bit too nesh
Now mildly annoyed I resold my collection of PV car seats but they were the old type which had to have a base to fit them in the car and were too annoying as I could never accept lifts from anyone.
MollysChambers · 29/01/2011 22:25
Yes I had one of those. Seemed like a good idea at the time but proved to be a bit of a PITA. New seat will fit too I believe.
DitaVonCheese · 29/01/2011 22:30
Egads, I had several of the buggers because I was carless at the time and had to have a base in every car I might get a lift in, and still had to turn down lifts from nice local mums. Total PITA!
Off to google nice new sensible seats ... :)
mewkins · 07/02/2011 20:37
Maxi cosi Mura 3 - great big wheels, good off road but really easy to steer onany surface. Shop around on the internet - as they are I think mainly popular in Holland they are pretty cheap to pick up here. Got ours for £170 incl carrycot from an online shop.
enimod · 07/02/2011 20:41
britax vigour- britax b smart 3. but only goes with britax car seats.
Melly19MummyToBe · 10/02/2011 19:18
Look on the mothercare website, theres a few 3 wheeled ones, a mothercare vesta, and theyre £180 at the moment normally £200! or theres a mothercare xtreme at £180 normally £400 so thats a bloody good bargain! Theres quite a lot on mothercare website, i'd have a look if I were you :)
mololoko · 10/02/2011 19:21
love love love my britax vigour. car seat, carry cot, pushchair really simple to swap round, front and rear facing, buggy board fits a treat. used every day for nearly 4 years (2 dc), no problems.
