Baby Jogger City Mini, Mothercare Spin or Maclaren Techno XT????

Hi ladies, I'm hoping you can help me decide which of these to get. I had seen the city mini during the week & fell in love with how easy it was to fold up, ease of use, sun hood & long enough handle for a tall woman like me (6ft).
I have now looked at the other 2 though & don't kno what to go for. My husband reckons that 4 wheels are better than 4 for a start & the Spin is forward facing & although dearer comes with the cosytoe & rain shield. I have also seen great reviews of the Techno. If anyone can help me decide that would be great, K x

i would go for the baby jogger city mini, unless you really want a rear facer.you wont be dissapointed ,it is fantastic.

I've had the spin from when dd was born. The carrycot on it is really nice for a small baby, very cosy. She is now in the seat unit and I love being able to have here rear facing still, plus it just spins round to forward facing if they want to have a look around, instead of having to remove the seat unit. I have no experience of the other two, but I'd rather have a bigger system for a young baby, plus the spin's rear wheels are large, so it's pretty good on rough terrain but its also easy to manoeuvre, so great on public transport, if that's a consideration. The only downside of it really is that it needs to be taken apart to fold, but this isn't much of an issue when you get used to it. It also has a matching car seat available and you can purchase adapters for the maxi cosi cabriofix and a britax one if you want a travel system. The cosy toes is really snuggly too, and e handle height is good, which I see is a criteria for you, I'm around 5ft 9 and don't need the handle at it's highest. Sorry if I've waffled on a bit, but I hope I've been some help :)

I have a techno xt and it's great for what it is, I would say the best lightweight, around townish umbrella fold on the market. It is robust, handles adjust and easily fits in the car/bus/train/aeroplane. However it's not my only buggy, I have a baby jogger summit xc for off road.

PS. personally if this is for a newborn/little baby i would get a rear facer...

If you get the adapter kit you can use the baby jogger with a car seat (rear facing) or they have a carry cot / bassinet which is also rear facing that you can buy as an optional extra.

Have to say I loooove me baby jogger. Have been looking at P&Ts as have recently had my second baby, and have been struck by two things. One is how heavy they are compared to by city mini, The other is all the features of the baby jogger that the latest p&t has stolen learned from like the extra big sunshade and the easy fold mechanism.

Thanks for replying ladies I'm still veering towards a Baby Jogger & getting the attachments for the car seat so he will be forward facing for a while. I know they should only stay in 1 for a couple of hours but to be honest I won't be out for too long a period when he's 1st born anyway.
The only thing is, hubby reckons the Spin will be better as its a 4 wheeler. I have started a new thread to get peoples opinions as I have no idea whether it will make a difference but as he's an engineer he is looking at this pram in a totally different way to me!

Hey! Baby Jogger City Mini has a 4 wheeler coming out. Why don't you call Baby Jogger and ask when it is available in the UK. It is available in Sweden...check the link below for pic. Sorry the text is in Swedish...

If it is for a newborn/small baby I really would go with rear facing. Personally I would not even contemplate a ff one at this age though everyone is different. I have a tecbo xt fabulous buggy, my son has just turned one and it is great.

I have never had the spin as I am a Bugaboo girl with a cam and bee+ and I like 3 wheelers for proper offroading. If you go with the spin mothercare have 10% off at the mo and if you enter JLK at check out it will give you another 10% off.

With 20% off I would go for a rear facer every single time. You will end up getting a maclaren anyway for holidays/hubby's car/take on the bus etc so wait until you need a stroller and enjoy a proper pram!!

Ive got a Spin and I love it!! I had actually got a second hand M&P pramette off e-bay and then DH fell in love with the Spin and insisted we had to have it despite us deciding to not spend loads of money this time round.

So we sold the pramette and I got the Spin and I can honestly say its the best pushchair Ive had and believe me with DS1 I had about 15!

Only thing I would say is don't get the Spin car seat cause its not very good...get either the maxi cosi or the britax and get the adapters instead!

Anything you need to know just give me a shout!

Have to say how much we love our Techno XLR. Lightweight, easy to push, supension, adjustable handles etc. We've used it for our DS from birth, and don't miss the parent facing element, cause he's almost always asleep when he's in it.

hmm, the jlk discount code doesn't seem to work for me. bum.
