Problem with Bug Bee Plus Extending Seat

Hi, when I extend the back piece of the seat unit on my Bug Bee Plus, it won't stay in the extended position and slips straight back down. I've got the footmuff on so not sure if that makes a difference? Anybody else have the same problem??

I've got the same issue with the footmuff on...I try to remember to pull the seat up before i put DD in and try and hold the footmuff as the bottom so DD doesn't make the fabric move but usually down the seat goes...Not a major issue as at 20 months my DD is the height of a 9 month old...Only time it's a problem if i want the hood up so there's the biggest clearance as she hates hoods up.

Same here - it's not coming down all the way - just a notch or two.
I have to remember to pull it up again each time I put him in there.
I don't think when he's a lot older - the footmuff will be on so maybe not a problem then. It is the back rest being physically pulled down by the child sitting in the snuggle bag which is attached to the top of the seat - and the seat back doesn't come down when the footmuff is not on.
Maybe sell the snuggle bag and get a spotty otter down snowsuit (they do big sizes too) instead. Look out for them in the sale at www.littletrekkers.co.uk as these duckdown snowsuits are "low loft" not too bulky - very light and comfortable for the child and you won't need a snuggle bag at all!

Thx! So it's not just me then, I'm going to try it without the footmuff and see if it still happens. I put the same message on Facebook Bugaboo site and Bugaboo told me to go back to the place I bought the pushchair from ,or contact Customer services; so it's obviously not supposed to happen. And you wouldn't expect it when you've paid so much!!

But it is designed to be pushed down or pulled up - so it makes sense that pressure on the top of the back - from where the footmuff is fastened onto the seat is being sat on (and wriggled down) comes make that bit come down a notch or two - it's not like it locks in place completely.

Are you saying yours just slips straight away - too easily? (mine isn't - just working it's way down after a while of 2.5y old ds wriggling about and getting in and out iyswim).

Mine does this as well. It drives me insane. I think it slips down too easily.

Often me putting my daughter in the Bee will cause it to slip down totally, since toddlers are prone to squirming. As you can't raise it again once they're in the seat, it is proving very, very annoying.

MonkeysPunk · 18/01/2011 09:24

I've no problems raising the seat back again once my toddler is in. It's quite easy. Just pull it up again.

sickoftheholidays · 18/01/2011 16:34

mine used to slip down just from pushing around town so does my friends.

EmmaNicole · 18/01/2011 19:34

Yep, I think it slips down too easily too. It gradually slips down a few notches at a time but it only takes about 5/10 mins before it's all the way back down. You can pull it back up when toddler is in it but you have to hold them forward so their weight is not resting on the back of the seat. Still need to take the footmuff off and see if it does it then. I can probably put up with it if it's just when the footmuff is on, but it will drive me insane if it does it all the time!!

i have exactly the same problem - so annoying - got a new seat unit from bugaboo - no change whatsoever

TuttoRhino · 12/03/2011 10:03

dinkdonk - how difficult was it to switchover the seat unit? I've got one coming in the mail next week. I've also got a new bottom seat bit as that isn't working properly either. So I've got to replace both the top and bottom bits as they would send me a new chassis.

I can safely say that I am getting less and less impressed with my Bee Plus one year in. Never had any old issues with my Bee. Recommended the Bee Plus to loads of people when I got it but now would not do so.
