Can we have a pushchair vote please?

I want to get one for my DD2 who is 16 months old.
There's so many to choose from. I had loads of buggies over the yrs, some a success, some really not so wanted to get some opinions here.

Ummm, can you tell me a bit more about your needs - and I'll try to recommend something that will suit.
for instance - are you planning another child soon?
Do you walk everywhere or mostly drive?
Do you live in the city or countryside?
Is space an issue at home?
How much longer do you forsee needing to use the buggy?
Is parent facing a must for you?
etc.

Or not - as the seat may be too tiny for a chunky toddler - the handleheight may be too low for you if you are 6ft. You may find the restricted layback options don't suit your child's needs.....the basket beneath the seat is hard to reach and doesn't hold much....
the Baby Jogger City Mini is a nicer option for the passenger in my opinion with it's multi reclinable seat (by strap not mechanism), larger easier to reach basket, larger more protective hood - from all manners of weather - and gives darkness at nap time too....the nice rubberised handle doesn't soak in the rain and give you prune fingers like the maclaren quest does....

Ooh torn. I was looking at the Quest.
I live in a town, mostly pavement walks, we've got a three wheeler if we go to the woods.
It's mainly a second buggy to keep in the house to save me having to go out to the car to bring the 3 wheeler in.
I'm definitely not planning any more children, DD2 is no. 4!!! I'm planning on using the buggy for a couple of yrs. Possibly might be thinking of a buggy board for my 3 yr old.

i've just bought a black xt for my 2yo,am loving it so far,good high handles (im 5ft7 but have a dodgy nack,esp if i have to stoop over handles) easy to fold/unfold,toys r us had them for £168.

Second the xt. On the rare occasions my 2.11yo goes in a pushchair there is oodles of room. I think a lighter buggy would be difficult to push with a hulking great child in it. I know yours isn't hulking great yet but one day ... :)

Baby Jogger City Mini is the same weight as the Maclaren XT so another lightweight option - it has a bigger seat than the Maclaren XT and a bigger shopping basket and a bigger hood (which keeps of rain, sun and makes a nice dark environment for naps).
The Baby Jogger City Mini is durable, and great for everyday and also public transport too.
I used mine on holiday on trains, buses, taxis - it was ideal - sturdy enough to stand up to being carted about and moved and bags piled on it folded - and bags hung on the back etc.
I'll say this for it - it's less likely to tip back when you hang stuff (on velcro hooks or over complete handlbar) than the maclaren is!

The Quinny Zapp Xtra is good for a lightweight stroller.It's a three wheeler too but great for city living. It copes well on public transport and folds down well if needed.

We totally loved our micralite, very practical and easy, only downside is if you or your dp are tall - then you need to walk a bit behind it if you know what I mean ?

Agree with fibernachi. You absolutely can't go wrong with a quest as a 2nd buggy for a baby that age. Fairly cheap, good build, lightweight, easy fold, reclines more than enough for naps. We have one as our main buggy now (daughter also 16 months) and it does the job very well. We treat it fairly mean too- much too much shopping draped from the handles etc. Babyjogger probably is more substantial but it's also heavier and more expensive.

Another vote for Baby Jogger City Mini if you can stretch to it.
MUCH nicer to push than any stroller, inc Maclaren, IMHO, much roomier, fantastic hood that pretty much works as a raincover if you use a cosy toes, folds super easily, and is as light as a stroller - around 7 kg I think?
We got a bumper bar for it which Ds2 likes, not an option with a stroller.

I would definitely recommend the Quinny Zapp Xtra. Fantastic both rear and forward facing. Very light to use even when out on your own (plus point to sell to your hubby!) and you know your child will travel around in comfort.
We have had ours roughly 3 months now and it has travelled miles on most terrains and most recently performed well coping with the Christmas shoppers.
If you are able to go and try it poss in Toys R Us etc go and have a go you will not be disappointed!!

Jojay...Maclaren do do a bumper bar and someone said it works on a Silver Cross Pop.
