pram/buggy attachments for tired toddler

DD is 2 & #2 is due soon, so am starting to think about something I can attach to our pram/stroller for DD to sit/stand on if she gets grumpy tired.

I know you can get a Kiddyboard/Buggyboard for the toddler to stand on, but I've also seen people with little seats attached to their buggy - are they any good? Don't they get in the way? It looks like you'd keep bashing your shins on it?

I've tried several different buggy boards out, i found for me non of them were satisfactory. They were not comfortable to walk behind. They inhibited the pushchairs manouverability. The child was not particularly comfortable or rested using them. I do a lot of walking. Average six miles a day. The answer for us was a double pushchair. Weigh up how often you'll need the buggy board and how much time you'll spend out with the pram toddler and baby, and how far you'll be walking.

I agree with monkeyspunk. A whiny wriggly 2 year old on a buggy board can be a pita. 2 is still pretty young to expect them to do a lot of walking. Buggy boards can be handy but they do get in the way.

i love my revelo kid sit board, i dont know how to do links but if u google it you will find it, we walk everywhere i havent got car and my DD (was 2.6 when we got it) she loves it

i dont think it gets in the way, i havent kicked it or caught myself on it yet and ive had it 5 months!

thanks for your replies!

I've been thinking more about when/where I'll use it & i think it will mainly be for walking to/from the local park (takes me 10-15mins to get there) or the local shops (about 20mins away). I'm liking the idea of a seat more & more as I try to imagine bringing a grumpy tired DD home from the park!

I googled the revelo kid sit board & it does look really good, and then I saw the buggypod which looks even better, but unfortunately it won't fit our Quinny Buzz Sad - does anyone know of any other similar products?

I have just bought a bibi strolli rider - the new comfort plus version suits from 15 months, has a deeper seat and safety straps. It comes with oodles of differant fittings so suits most types of pushchair and best of all the child is alonside, not in front of you so no aching back from leaning over them.

I use mine on two differant buggies, one a tandem and one a side by side double, one differant journeys with differant childre - yes I am a childminder Grin I have to say i was sceptical about how sturdy it was and wether the children would like it, but they fight over who gets on it next!

I have a comfort plus bibi strolli rider too and I used it a lot more than our Phil & Teds.

I don't need it anymore so if you are interested in buying then please let me know.

Babydan do a pram chair which I almost purchased when DD2 was born but DD1 was 3.5 & had discovered cycling by then so didn't bother. My mum had a similar one for me & loved it cos she could talk to my face & not the back of my head

MonkeysPunk · 08/12/2010 12:08

could you fit a tall six year old on the new bibi plus strolli seat?

toastandeggs · 09/12/2010 08:28

the buggy pod has terrible reveiws, i was going to get 1 but after hearing some of the stories i decided against it.

If you take a look at preciouslittleones website they now sell an attachment bar that allows you to attach the kidsit to almost any buggy :)

I use the Revelo Kid Sit and it's fantastic, I really love it. DD was 22 months when DS was born, and she adores her little seat. When we're out and about, everyone comments on it - I don't think there's been a single day I've left the house with it and not had someone ask where to get one! It's brilliant. Expensive, but it saved us the cost of a double buggy and I much prefer that DD has a bit of freedom but can sit down if she's tired. She's fallen asleep on there as well. It also means she and DS face each other (buggy is rear-facing) so they can entertain each other, which is lovely.

I sound like I work for them now! I don't but it's probably been my favourite baby purchase. Like toastandeggs, I didn't buy a buggy pod because of the reviews.
