how do you store a nipper double or should we buy something else?

we bought a nipper double buggy (secondhand). I carefully measured the door frame before to check the buggy would fit through our door, but now we have the buggy, have realised that, in practice, that would only be possible if we took the door off its hinges Blush.

we have 6 week old twins, so I am now faced with wondering what to do when I have one or two sleeping babies in the buggy, and I can't tip it sideways to get it inside. plus, if it was inside, it will totally block the little hall we have.

we're thinking of getting a shed for outside to store it. but what does anyone else do? and is there a marginally narrower buggy we should have got?

We have a nipper but before that had a First Wheels (which was absolutely terrible and a complete waste of money). Neither fitted through the front door of our old house. TBH I didn't find it that inconvenient. Yes if they were asleep I'd have to take them out and risk waking them up but it happened infrequently and i I was that desperate to keep them sleeping I'd just keep on walking!

We've since moved and it does fit through both our front and back door but as the kids are now older (20 months and 8 months) they're rarely fast asleep by the time I get home and usually when I do use the buggy it's after getting somewhere in the car first.

Storage wise we either keep it in the car boot or if I have been out walking and DH has the car I shove it in the garage. Probably not much help to you though.

We can't fit the nipper through our door either so we ended up with the mountain buggy urban double (which I loved but was a monster to get in and out of the car) - and the Phil and Teds classic twin (side by side - few on this page

Phil and teds much lighter - still decent sized seats and basket - went flat and takes cocoons so ace for moving sleeping baby - and cheap too

As has two front wheels less tippy that nipper too

could you not buy 2 phil and teds cocoons and then if the babies fall asleep you can lift them in?
