Pushchairs
Pushchair problems

I am a second year design engineering student who has been given the task of designing a product under the title "transportation for the under 3's", which was chosen by our lecturers as it is a topic that most of the class have very little knowledge of. I am therefore looking for any advice/information on modern pushchairs and what you like/dislike about models on sale today, or what you would like to see.
Thank your for your time
Regards, Simon

The handles are all way too low, they tend to give taller people back ache if you need to push for a long time. Adjustable handles are usually only available on a few of the more expensive pushchairs.
If you had designed a pair of handles that I could have somehow clipped to my (various) buggies then I would have kissed you spent quite a bit of money with you.
The main problem is that some buggies come with 2 handles (like a pair of walking sticks), some come with a single bar handle, some have foam finishes, others are solid plastic. So a one-solution fits all would have been fab.

The holy grail of pushchairs is a lightweight, from birth, reversable [child can face parent or outward] one which can fold with the seat facing in either direction and attached to the frame.
Large wheels, possibly air tyres and yes adjustable handles too.
Bugaboo bee might be suggested but then they are £££££.

as above, but that you can fix a carseat to (usually maxi cosi as they seem very popular). not so massive they're a nightmare to fold and fit in a car boot. reclinable (as above - so they can be used from birth but also for kids to sleep comfortably) but also able to have them nice and upright so child is not always straining to sit up. decent sized basket underneath and/or inbuilt clips to hang shopping bags off.

A buggy with a toddler step integrated so that you don't have to use a horrible buggy board that sticks out. I end up craning my back standing far enough away that I don't kick the back of it.
The mams and papas pliko pramette has one but I can only use it in pushchair mode with the seat totally upright so it's not that versatile.

Exactly like the baby jogger city mini (ie the onehanded push and unique fold) except I would like it to have the option of facing me. You can also get a carrycot and car seat for baby jogger

Great, I'm starting to see some problems now that I would not have foreseen myself. Thank you all very much.
