Has anybody used a Buggypod?

Here

DS will be 3.1 when DC2 is born, so I don't think a double buggy will be really necessary, but there will be times when I'll need to wheel them both around. Buggy boards look so awkward, having to stretch over your child's head to reach the handles and walk leaning over in a funny position. Has anybody tried one of these buggypod sidecar things? And if so, what did you think of it? I'd be using it with a Jane Slalom Pro, so would probably take up the whole width of the pavement!!

Word on the street is they're utterly rubbish. (and they look funny too!).

You'd probably be better off getting a maclaren triumph double for the occasions you want both children seated - wouldn't be much difference in cost by the time you bought the buggypod and raincover - have a look on ebay for 2nd hand if cost is an issue.

It's got tiny wheels though - I'd never get it up the stairs to the front door, hence using the Jane with big wheels. I suspect the same might be true if a buggyboard was fitted. I can't really justify getting a Jane powertwin just for a few months. Are they really that crap?

My son's old CM used one - one of the wheels fell off after a few weeks.

I think they really are that crap. Sorry. Sad

Have you considered using a really good sling - such as a wrap sling (didymos or storchenwiege) for the times your toddler will need to sit in the buggy?

They really are comfortable slings - and pack down small into your bag - so baby can be in the Jane - and your 3y old can be walking - but when he gets tired - carry the baby in thesling and let him sit in the pram. Wink

I think that's what I would do - like you said it'll only be short term.

Also the wrap slings are so versatile and comfy - I've used mine when in the house so the baby can be "held" while I get the hoovering/washing up/laundry done.

So comfy compared to those naff "highstreet" type strap slings.
look at www.bigmamaslings.co.uk or on eBay.

I had one and would vote with totally CRAP!!

(Although the wheel is supposed to come off for storage)

Had a buugy board which was brilliant and would certainly be my first choice for a child that age. Can easily reach either side of child and creates an enclosed space that they can't run off out of too easily

HTH

Do buggy boards get in the way when bumping a buggy up stairs? And don't you kick them as you walk along?

you would need to take your child off the buggy board and hook it up out the way before attempting to reverse up steps.

Hook the buggy board up out the way. Not the child.
