Graco - what's the difference

Hi

I'm trying to figure out which tandem buggy to buy. Graco seems to come out quite well. But I am a bit confused as to what the difference is between various of models. The website is not particularly useful on why The Quattro is twice the price of the Duo Orbit, for example.

So, does anyone have any views or advice on the differences between:

Graco Stadium Duo orbit

Graco Duo Sport Orbit

Graco Quattro Tour Duo Orbit

Thanks

The Quattro takes two car seats, seats are more cushioned and probably a bit bigger and the whole pram will be more easier to push, more suspension, stronger frame etc. Better quality all round.

Tandem prams are beasts to push, very hard to bump up and down curbs the first few times you take them out and the steering is a bit weird as well, but you can get used to them. Is it specifically a tandem you are after?

Thanks for the response. A twin simply won't fit through our front door, nor, particularly on London public transport.

I will have a 2yr old and a newborn. I am hoping to mostly use a single buggy and sling or single buggy and buggy board, depending on the circumstances. However, I think that it might be worth getting a second hand double for those times when I need to get somewhere in a hurry or otherwise need to have both of them under control. I suspect that it will not get used for long, then sold on, which I am happy with.

If you're ok with second hand then I would say a twin Jane Powertwin would be much better and easier to push. You can get them cheap enough off Ebay.

Thanks a lot - I'll check them out.

I have tried out the Quattro and Stadium duo with friends kids and there are major differences ad drawbacks to both!

The Quattro is a LOT bigger and bulkier BUT is a lot easier to push and comfier for kids as well as the fact you can have 1 or 2 car seats on so that you can see baby. You'd be lucky to get this on a bus TBH.

The stadium duo is the lighter of the 2 and is more compact but is still quite heavy and a major pain! It is almost impossible to fold with hoods attached so takes away the advantage of one hand fold (so called).

As said above tandems are generally a pain to push around because of the length it is like pushing around a bus! If you walk a lot I would suggest getting the powertwin as the air wheels will be easier to push.

The Phil & Teds pushchair sounds like it may be of more use to you as it takes up no more space than a single and can stilll be used when 2 Year old grows out of it altogether.

They are exoensive even 2nd hand but no more so than the powertwin I imagine or there is an Obaby double as well which is cheaper but the same idea as Phil & Teds.

how old will your eldest be when you have the baby?
i had the stadium duo for my 2, eldest was 20 months (but quite petite) and i used the backseat mostly with the carseat on,but very comfy even for a newborn with just a cosytoes on it.
i LOVED mine,it folds SO easy, you can fold it with both hoods on,but it depends how big your boot is,i had to take hte front snack tray and hood off,but it fitted in my smallish boot with them off.
i paid £99 for mine brand new and got free delivery,it was well worth that.
the only downside i did find was that the front seat only reclined a little, was fine for a little nap,but not so great when we went on holiday. Also wouldnt have liked to use it with a larger child (3yo +)

i've also had a phil and teds,if you walk lots, and can afford it,then i would def recommend it,it will last for holidays and days out until both kids are out of a buggy.

i nearly bought a powertwin, but read lots bad reviews about it tipping with a larger child in front.
