I was planning to purchase a bugaboo bee for dd2 who is 2yrs as i sold mine a few months ago and miss it :(

Thing is I just found out Im pregnant again, and dont want to fork out for a bee just to find out it doesnt work for me when the baby comes along

Baby due late may/early june so i expect it will be hotish weather. The newborn cocoon doesnt look very good for newbies in hot weather?? I.E not very supportive.. not flat, got to use pushchair harness etc...

Any opinions that can reassure me or am i better steering clear and saving for a cam?? xxx

I had a Bee for an August baby and used the cocoon without the top half. I thought it was great but I know some people prefer a 'proper' pram without straps.

Like Apple i used a bee for a march born and once the weather warmed up we just took off the top cover.

I also in the beginning did the straps up but had the shoulder straps behind his arms so not rubbing/near his face.

It lays flat enough for a newborn and he always slept well in it and used public transport lots.

DS loved it. Slept like a log in it in the early weeks. I also worried about the lying flat thing but, really, it is a non-issue. It's not like you're laying them to sleep in it overnight. The cocoon is so cosy and you can just remove the cover when it's warm. As a pram, it's a great choice, so nippy and easy to manoeuvre and lots of basket storage.

The traditional pram ones look very comfy for baby don't they? Trouble is, the people I know who got them were looking for something else by the time baby was about three months and no longer content to lie flat looking at the sky! That's why I think the Bugaboo Cam is a waste of money - you hardly get any use out of the carrycot.

We bought it for June born DS and tbh I couldn't bring myself to use it for him and ended up buying a Stokke with a carrycot.
For me it was too low down, the pavement by us is awful and he felt every bump. Since you can't swaddle them and strap them in, his mono reflex meant it looked like he was being shot and holding his hands up every 2 mins.
Carrycots are used for such a short time but loads of baby equipment is, when you need it you need it though.
I either buy 2nd hand and then sell it on for a quarter of the orginial price or else buy it new and hope to resell for half.
