Which 2nd hand Bugaboo is best Gecko or Frog?

I'm looking for a 2nd hand bugaboo - I have the bee+ but want one that's going to be good in snow/off-road too - we definately cannot afford a new chameleon - and probably not a 2nd hand cameleon either...so I'm looking at Frogs and Geckos.....

Is the Gecko smaller - my child is 2y - and quite big - will he be okay with a Gecko? I do like the simple design - and have found a good looking one locally via ebay - that i'm seriously interested in...I've also found a 2nd hand frog at a similar price - looks a little more worn - but perhaps it's a better pushchair? Is the Frog seat bigger - I'm not sure what the differences are?

Also - any guesses as to how I'd get on using a Gecko or Frog with public transport - buses or trains?

If you want it for snow and off road, and even buses, a Bugaboo is not goign to be your best bet. Offroad, you want a 3 wheeler. On the bus, I'd say stick to the Bee

Really - I'd thought they were good off-road - the video I viewed on youtube showed the handlebar on the gecko reversing - to put the large rear wheels at the front - and with the smaller wheels locked straigt - it showed it going through woodland....and then you are supposed to be able to pull it on 2 wheels for beach or snow. I was hoping it was going to be really versatile - with all the parent facing lay back comfort and manouverability of the bee. Sad

I've got a big 3 wheeler in the garage - but it doesn't do parent facing - and it isn't as light as a Gecko or Frog.

I'm planning a trip at half term - and was hoping to pick up a frog/gecko before hand (and sell 3 wheeler in garage) to take as I'm getting there by public transport (a very long train journey and then buses!) - so thought maybe a light bugaboo that does everything would be good (as we'll be in the muddy countryside and also town) - perhaps I've got it all wrong! Confused

I had a frog for my first dc. I was convinced it would be all I would need, and to give it it's due it was a bloody good pram. But with the big wheels at the front it is damn near impossible to steer, and if you need to fold it on a train you will curse bringing it

Oh - okay. Doesn't sound quite so fab now..and as the bee+ is my everyday pram - I may aswell stick with that (and forget muddy walks across fields!).
