Buggy board emergency. Lascal? Bugaboo?

I've been using a bugaboo buggy board on my chameleon but it's just broken so I'm going to have to get a new one smartish[grr]

The bugaboo one is a bit long, I have to extend the handle fully and walk slightly to the side when pushing, which is fine but not ideal. Also, the wheel often gets stuck at rightangels to the buggy wheels which is a real PITA. But, maybe that's because it was pretty old when I bought it Hmm

So, I was wondering about a lascal, they seem to be widely available second hand and look much shorter. The thing is, DS insists on being RF, I was wondering if the lascal was so short that the pushchair would have to FF. Also there seem to be 1001 different models, or is that just different patterns on the thing?

I've got a cameleon and use a Lascal Maxi with DS (3) and DD (9m)in the cam rear facing with no problems at all.

I do still have to have the handles fully extended (with DS inside the handlebar space, holding on to the sides) but don't have to walk to the side at all, it's really quite comfortable once I got used to it.

We have fitted the lascal board to the cameleon in a slightly different way than Lascal instructions state, just to get a bit more foot room when pushing - you have to put the connector brackets on the frame so that they're under the seat unit (pointing to the front of the bugaboo) rather than pointing to the rear..does that make any sense ?! Anyway,I got the idea from this board, so if you do get one and need more details, I'm sure someone more articulate than I am can come on to explain it to you !

As far as the different models are concerned, from what I could see the only main difference between the maxi and the newer model was that the new one has reflectors on the side...you could stick some on yourself, really !

Sorry for the ramble, HTH Smile

Thanks Stanton, that's really helpful.

I think I can follow your description of how attach it, I'll only really know if/when I get one though!

Can you fold the bug with the lascal plank attached? That's essential for us.

I've been having a look for a secondhand one, but there seem to be some major differences between the two boards being described 'lascal maxi'.

type A

type B

Which should I be looking for? There were at least 5 different ones before I added 'maxi' to the search term Confused, so, thanks for the tip.

You are most welcome Fermina !

I must admit I have never tried to fold the bugaboo with board attached - it does clip on and off the connector brackets quickly, so I always just unclip ours before I fold. Think it would be a bit of a problem if left on, due to weight of the board - you know, kinda flapping around during fold process !

I had a look at your links, not sure if I'm looking properly, but they both looked exactly the same..prob me,not computer or you!
Looks like the one in your link is the Buggyboard Maxi+, apparently discontinued in June of this year (it's the one with the fancy reflectors I told you about!)
I've got this one www.lascal.se/web/buggyboard-maxi2.aspx
Just the standard Lascal Maxi, I think.

Did your fabrics come out ok, BTW ?

Just noticed that was your post, too! Smile

Ah, yes, posted the same link twice Blush

Oh well, a least I know which one I need now. Cheers. I think I'll risk it, they're so much cheaper for a start this was the other one

Have answered the fabric thread, hadn't spotted it before...
