Icandy Apple or Mamas and Papas Sola?

I'm expecting my first baby and at 21 weeks am busy pram hunting. I've narrowed it down to 2 (I think!) the Icandy apple and the sola. This is my first post and I wondered if anyone has any thoughts if they use either of these? Hubby and I are both v tall - I'm 5'10'' and he's 6'1'' so the length of the handle and the height of the carrycot are important. I also worried that the sola wasn't cosy enough in pushchair mode? But the Icandy is so much more expensive! Any comments gratefully received! Thanks ladies. :)

They are both very different. The ICandy is very sturdy and I think would be cosier for a winter baby. But they are not in prams for long (about 6 months) by which time the Sola would be nipper. Everyobe I know who bought "big" prams like the ICandy Apple etc with a view to using them in pushchair mode, ended up buying a lighter folding (eg McClaren type) pushchair by the time their baby was 1.

Thanks for posting BikeRunSki - think one of the reasons that I am struggling to choose is that they are quite different, and each has their pros and cons. I definitely want a cosy carrycot bit as baby is due in January, but they both have nice looking carrycots - the sola one is just pretty low down. Decisions, decisions!

i have the i candy apple and think it is brilliant baby only five months so cannot comment on seat unit.
compared to other prams the carrycot is higher up which i like and very sturdy.

It is easy to push over the summer took mine around town ,to the beach out in the countryside and on numerous days out and experienced no problems.

Only downside is it is big and takes up a lot of room in the car etc..However the pros outweigh this by far.

The apple also has plenty of variation in the handle position, which is useful if you're tall.

I like the way that you can choose whether the cot is rigid or can rock.

Even my health visitor has commented on how good the carrycot is- it's deeper than lots of others, and as you say it's nice and high.

My cousin has the i-candy pear for his twins. He is 6'4" and has no problems with the handle height.

we have a sola, 1 month old, knackered chassis, crappy quality....it is going back, i'm getting a refund and buying a 2nd hand bugaboo, using our old mountain buggy (from older dc) in the meantime. They are rubbish imo, shame really as our first m & p, a 3 in one traditional pram is still going strong (10 yrs on) but the fabric is not very modern so i fancied a sola.

Sounds like the apple is a good choice then! Sorry to hear about the problems you have had beccagrace2 - hope the bugaboo works out better. Thanks everyone.
