Stokke Xplory - problems with folding wheels

We are somewhat struggling with folding the chassis for going up and down the stairs. It looks very easy and intuitive in the video, but we have to fiddle with the levers to release the wheels, and then once we are off the stairs, it is a pain to unlock the wheels back into a normal position.

Has anyone else experienced difficulties with this? Or perhaps we are just being clumsy luddites...

No, not luddites. The folding wheels are a PITA but they get easier to do with use.

We have found that you must always keep the wheels in contact with the ground when folding/unfolding. You perhaps need more of a 'wheel rolling' motion as you move those wheels in and out. (Sounds easier than it actually is, but persevere and you'll get the hang of it). Just keep the buggy on the ground at all times and flick those wheels along the floor. (It's like a yo yo. It doesn't need any force, just a gentle rolling movement.)

And at EXACTLY the same time as you roll those wheels in or out, you need your hand squeezed on that trigger on the main 'stem' of the buggy.

Keep your thumb on the top of the button and your fingers on the bottom button for as long as possible when folding/unfolding. Don't let go of that pincer movement until you have completely folded/unfolded. Make sure the entire movement has finished and it has clicked into place.

(I was having similar problems to yours and My husband showed me that I was letting go of squeezing the buttons a fraction too early - hanging on longer really does help.)

Now, I just need to find some new wheels for our ancient Xplory and I'll be sorted. We've already been through two sets doing 1,000 miles!

That's excellent advice, thank you everydayinMK! Will try it now.
