Light-weight pushchair under £100 - pls help me choose

I'm trying to get a light-weight, easily collapsible pushchair as I'm often on public transport and do a lot of flying. Have an Icandy Cherry which I love but not easily collapsible! Also my baby is tall and heavy already at 4 months, so worried the cherry wont last very long.

Have been doing so much research and still having difficulty choosing!! Basically I'm looking for:

  • comfortable (enough to sleep in)
  • easily collapsible
  • not too heavy
  • big hood (decent sun protection)

Is this possible to get under £100? I would love one of those mini jogger things but too expensive. I've been looking at the Obaby Atlas which seem decent for the price but never seen one in real life so diff to tell how big it is. The Graco Mirage seems to be everything I want it to be but may be too big/heavy? The Volo looks a little flimsy for my baby.

Can anyone give me any advice before I drive myself and DH crazy? Thank you.

I like my obaby atlas sport plus.

I can fold it one handed and carry it and my 16 month old ds easily (whilst being 37weeks pregnant). It reclines completely flat and my ds naps really well in it especially with the fleece liner I have in it. Hood isn't huge but it does keep the sun off adequately. Easy to push and steer one handed.

Other bits I like about it are, shopping basket is a fair old size, the pocket on the back of the hood for phone, keys, wallet, the window on the back of the hood so you can still see little one, the sun/shower visor. This is great as when it's just a quick drizzle you can pull he visor down to keep rain of baby without having to get the whole raincover on.

It comes with head hugger too so great for smaller babies.

I have the red pushchair and recommend the red clare de lune fleece lined cosy toes (I bought mine from boots) as it matches perfectly and will be lovely and snuggly whith the cold weather approching!

Thanks lifeas3plus1 that's very helpful. How long do you think the Obaby will last your ds?

PS very impressed at the one-handed-folding, baby-carrying, 37-weeks-pregnant juggling act!!

Can anyone tell me whether the mamas and papas pulse buggy would be suitable for larger children?

i have a mamas and papas nipi which is very nice

Mamas and Papas Beat is very good. I have had one for over a year & wouldn't be without it.

nicolamumof3 - which maclaren? Most seem to be over £100. The volo looks flimsy but please correct me if I'm wrong.

The Nipi looks great thanks thisisyesterday- not sure as to the differences btn it, the beat and the Pulse??

well xt would suit most of your requirements however they are alot more than £100 new, would be v.comfy for little one, large comfy seat for sleeping in, lies flat. tilting, extending hood with uv visor. However it is also quite heavy.

the quest would be fab apart from fact that hood is not that big but it is much lighter and cheaper, lots of offers on atm which would bring it to budget. you could always get a shade a babe for it? macs just push so much nicer and last so much longer, they are simply excellent quality.
