Quinny Buzz Carrycot

Hi there

I have just bought a Quinny buzz but without the carrycot. We will have a compatible car-seat.

Do you think I really need to buy the carry-cot or will it not be used for very long? Is it ok to just push the baby around in the carseat so long as it's not for too long?

Sorry if a stupid question, just a complete novice at this.

We had the carrycot and didn't really use it tbh (both my dc's hated it). I think you are supposed to try and have them in a car seat (without a break) for a max of 2-3 hrs so if its just for short journeys, I wouldn't bother with the carrycot

Do you want one? I'm selling mine Grin

When is your baby due? Unless it's in the dead of winter, I wouldn't say you need one. Ours was invaluable as DS was born at the end of November, and it was very very cold, so just the seat might have been a bit nippy for him (and the footmuff is bloody expensive too)

I did walk a lot though.

it will be the ead of winter lol. Due on 13th Dec.

How much do you want for it Grin ?

We had the carry cot and it was brilliant. We used it for about 4 months which doesn't sound a lot but we didn't have a moses basket so it got a lot of use. DS just slept in the carry cot by our bed, and then we could bring it downstairs for him to sleep in the day. It was great as we went away quite a bit during that time so it was a consistent place for him and he actually ended up sleeping well in it, inculding at a wedding that went on pretty late (do not ask me about the transition to a normal cot though Grin). It was also really nice on the travel system as I did a lot of walking around to get to places and didn't really drive much at that time as the shops, local baby groups etc were in walking distance. I think friends who did drive more, and who used a moses basket (or whose DCs didn't like the carry cot) didn't use it quite so much so depends on your situation I suppose.

£50? It's in excellent condition, and I've got all the bits. Have also got the adaptors for a maxi cosi car seat if you're interested in them?

Was going to ebay it, but would much rather send to an MNer Grin

We used it as a moses basket as well, just parked the pram in the lounge during the day, and used it at Christmas at the Grandparents.

Thank you :)

We do have a moses basket so really just wondering if the carry-cot is essential for pushing the baby about in the park. Sounds like maybe not?

If you've already got a moses basket, and you're not going to be walking about that much, then you could probably do without it yes.

I did like it, DS seemed really snug, but you could get the footmuff on the main seat unit and he'd be fine :)
