Graco citisport - can I really use if for a new born?

I have been given a Graco citisport by some friends. It hasn't been used much as they only needed it for a few months after moving here, so it's in very good condition.

I was reading the instruction manual and can see it reclines quite far back, but I gather it doesn't go completely flat.

Is this correct? And is it likely to be an issue with a new born? If so, from roughly what age can I use it?

I really like that it's so light and easy to use on public transport etc so I'm reluctant to get a lie flat pram as well (we don't have the room apart from anything else) which always seem much more awkward.

The reviews on here seem very positive about it in general I just have this question about whether we'll be able to use it straight away or not...

TIA

May depend on your newborn some are born really strong especially if they are overdue. A good sling may be a good idea this one is really good. One of my friend has one watch the video is is really goo and very well made and would be so easy on public transport and had buggy envy. you can get a carry-cot for it and the extending hood keeps the sun (lol) off the baby.

I did

2nd hand citi sport did two newborn children

I really don't get buggy frenzy envy

AS long as you're not planning 4 hour jaunts in it for the first month or so and baby is well and healthy baby should be fine.

Great! Thanks for the info.

I was considering get a sling as well so hopefully with the two I'll not need a lie flat pram as well then (can't believe how expensive baby stuff is)...

I used mine from birth but DS1 was 11 days late and 11lbs 4 oz so more like a 3 month old! LOL

I think it's aimed at 3 months plus...Recline is very simlar to a Maclaren Quest...My DD was probably 3-4 months when i bought mine from a car boot...She was fine in it but was a very upright baby that wasn't floppy so i'd have used it earlier if i'd got it earlier...I just love that buggy even though i've a Bee+ now...It's so light and nippy with a good sized basket...If mine breaks i'll defo get another via eBay.

Definitely get a decent sling - not a baby bjorn type thing - much easier on buses full stop, when they are tiny enough not to want to climb around and look out of the windows etc.
