Electronic opening kitchen drawers

Hello! I haven't posted in this section before, but have a question I would love you ladies' help with. We're getting a new kitchen as part of a big house renovation we're doing and we've been recommended to have electronic opening kitchen drawers using this blum system. Has anyone else had this sort of system? We're a bit concerned that they could hit a toddler in the face if they prod it, although we also reckon it would be something they only did once, and wouldn't be horribly dangerous either. Would love to hear of anyone's experiences. Thanks very much!

Ridiculous gadget for anyone except the very impaired. Aren't we supposed to be saving energy?! You are being upsold, bigtime.

sorry, should have written.. is life so hard..

What a ridiculous idea! What happens if the electricity goes off? And I don't agree that your toddler will only get hit once with the drawer, they'll probably get hit once with every drawer in your kitchen and then when they figure out the system they'll open each drawer whenever your back is turned and upend the contents on the floor!

If they are throwing them in for free then go for it but I wouldn't pay for them.

My DH on the other hand....

Just something else to go wrong/break down IMO.

I can't see much difference with them and the push in type, can't think of the exact term for them. Also, if they are touch sensitive, if you so much as tap/knock/lean, you'll have drawers coming out at you all over the place how annoying. A waste of money imvho.

them those

Agree wholeheartedly with all PPs- wholly unnecessary spend, only something else to go wrong, totally ponce-tastic and a waste of money- how hard is it to open a drawer? And as you say in your OP potentially a danger to DCs. Madness.

Welcome to the board though, we are all lovely really, honest...
