How do I deep-clean a tile floor?

We have a cream tiled floor in our kitchen. The tiles are rivened and they hold the dirt. It's sort of surfacy-clean but when you look closer, they look quite grotty and nothing like when they were originally laid.

What would be the best way to clean them? I'm open to any suggestion, have no idea what's on the market with regard to products/machines.

TIA.

Steam cleaners are good on tiles. Thinking of which, I probably need to do my kitchen.

What do you do at the moment?

Down on your knees with a scrubbing brush works well.

I'm interested too. I still have grouting on the riven bits of the tiles that dried before I could get it really clean (was away when floor was laid which didn't help).

my mum does hers with a toothbrush once a year - big kitchen too.I think she regrets getting those tiles with that grouting.

Bleach on a toothbrush has worked for me before

Wickes do a very good stone cleaner. You work it in with a scrubbing brush wait for half an hour then wipe it off. It strips everything off and leaves the stone tile ready for a sealant.
The product is acidic so please wear gloves. (I did not the first time...)
