Anyone know anything about this area as I have seen a lovely house. Big enough for long term so are thinking of schools (primary/secondary), general info, any trouble there etc. We are currently in SW20 so not far but still don't know this area. Thanks.

Am nearby and have friends in KT4 -

Good schools I think

primary - malden parochial (but need to be next door or attend church)
Cheam Common
I think there are a couple of other particularly good ones

I think Cheam senior school (can't quite remember its proper name - Cheam HIgh school maybe) is natural progression which I think is good.

I don't think there are bad areas in terms of trouble, just more desirable areas.

High street not bad - has a pizza express and a waitrose .

Secondary wise you have all the grammar schools in Sutton to choose from too

Thanks. That was quick. Doesnt seem to be any secondary schools actually in Worcester Park so I guess they all travel. Found a lovely house with huge garden and 3 decent size rooms. I am going to have to see it. Wasnt plannign on selling until I saw it on the internet.

feelingsensitive, stick the house's postcode into upmstreet.com and it will give you a list of closest primary and secondary schools. Then you need to check out what the admissions criteria for said schools are (e.g., religious character, community). Beware faith schools if you are not a very active member of that particular faith. Generally speaking, you need to be regular church-goers to attend Catholic and some Cof E schools. If in doubt, contact the LEA who can tell you whether your kids are likely to get into a particular school living at a particular address.

if the property you're after is on Rightmove there's a facility on the map part which shows you all the nearest schools. You can then go straight to the Ofsted report (if you're interested in such things!) and the school's website.
