Any ideas?? For quite a large victorian room

I think too pale will look odd, and likewise too dark...

I think dusky pinks go well with gold

Not sure i'd convince DH about pink but thanks for the suggestions.

Was thinking more neutral, beige, cream...just which one

have a look at farrow and ball Dimity, that is a lovely warm neutral.

We have gold silk curtains in an edwardian house with pine floorboards. We used Dulux buttermilk on the walls and gardenia on the woodwork and ceiling.Looks nice and it is easy to repaint and is fresh with cream sofas. An alternative is F&B dorset cream - a cream/ochre which is a really warm colour - it all depends on the light in your room.

Will go and get a Farrow and Ball colour chart then! Thanks

Room is very sunny in the morning but then we loose it in the afternoon,

Looked at 'buttermilk' but thought it might be too yellow?

The room i have buttermilk in is a bright room and it doesn't look yellow - just neutral .We have a dark room the other side of the hall and buttermilk looks awful - so we painted it gardenia , because the room is so dark , it actually looks a darker colour than the buttermilk.I would try tester pots to see what you like and do large patches!.

Thats the trouble isn;t it - colour charts or in oter peoples home are one thing. Then you put it on your walls and it looks totally different, then at night different again.

Off to spend a small fortune on testers
