Moving a radiator

Was wondering if anyone knows if moving a radiator is an expensive job?
It would probably need moving about a metre if that makes a difference.

Depends on the plumber tbh
we had a mate do ours, charged £40 but i know others would charge more

I would expect to be charged more than that. MamaG, your mate probably didnnot include a callout charge.

Also depends in complexity of job. It may not be as simple as you think. Is it a concrete floor or joisted? Are there any other pipes that pass across where you want the new pipes to run? Etc. No point telling me because I wouldn't know - just pointing out possible complications.

Best to get a few quotes.

I was charged £100 for moving two radiators along the wall a bit, which I thought was very reasonable. He was here for a couple of hours (central London area)

would n't this cause holes in the walls and in floors?

jimblejambles · 04/05/2010 10:16

Thank you. Holes in the wall wouldn't be a problem because I want patio doors. Will get some quotes now as it doesn't seem too expensive.
