Can anyone give splashback / tiling advice?

We've just had a tiny loo put in the understairs cupboard. Decided to put a few tiles just around the sink as a splashback. I chose some plain beige tiles and a nice mosaic feature, but now they are up they look shit. I can start again, they didn't exactly cost much. What would look good? Loo and sink and walls are white and the floor will be mid-oak colour. It's a modern house.
Thanks in advance.

It might be better to play it safe with the tiles in such a small room? These rectangular tiles are cheap and will look modern here I always go for white but they come in jazzy colours and your room is white so you could go for red or green if you really wanted to make a feature of the tiling. If you want them to look very now, have the tiles laid 'brickwork'.

Good name, the Thick of it yes? Thanks but your link didn't work. Can you try again? I've told the builder to take the tiles off, he's going to hate me even more now. I might just leave it with no splashback at all and use water resistant bathroom paint and just hope it doesn't end up getting really mucky.

They are Topps Tiles - Metro. I just tried the link again and it seemed to work this time so not sure if I've done something to it!

I actually think you're probably right about leaving the tiles off, especially if you're not expecting it to be used all the time. You might find some tiles you really love later on (I have a massive crush on some mexican blue and white tiles at the moment but nowhere to put them).
