Any one any experience? Saw W&G Chiltern range but dh felt for the price there was a lot of veneer panels and no solid wood to the back- I also saw the Next Cambridge oak range for the price suprisingly solid and the backs were more real wood-anyone any experience?

We have W&G bedroom furniture - it's cherry wood. It is seriously solid furniture. We have a bed, 2 side consoles, a dressing table and stool. We will have them forever and I love to stroke the dressing table. I don't think you could be disappointed with it.

chalk and cheese. w and g is quality furniture t hat will last a life time. next furniture looks cheap and will not last as long. imho. thats why there is such a price differntial.

Being nosey, I took a look on the internet at these two ranges - the W&G looks so much more solid and like it would last a lifetime.

I suppose the question is whether you want to keep the furniture forever or whether you see it as a fashion item that you'll change in 10 years time. The Next range is more 'fashionable' so could date quite quickly anyway.

What is the price differential?

Interesting -it's dining room furnture and exactly the same price (sideboard , console and table /chairs)- the w&g range had glued drawers and the back panels were not wood and had central veneer panels to the cupboard doors-the next range had solid wooden backs and dovetailed drawer joints- I suppose it depends it the quality of the wood is important.Still pondering

Interesting - our bedroom furniture is totally solid - I just checked! All the drawers are solid wood with beautiful dove joints. If what you're described is correct then I might be tempted to go for the Next stuff - just to contradict myself!
