Good Quality Cheap Engineered Wooden Floor

splodge2001 · 01/04/2010 22:45

You know the deal, I'm shopping around trying to find decent quality engineered wooden flooring for the smallest price!! Ideally less than £30pm2, or even less than £25pm2

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good supplier?

DP (A builder) recently supplied a client with engineered oak flooring from Benchmarx and it worked out at around £18.00 pm2. There aren't any prices on their website but you can get the prices by ringing or getting a catalogue. It's also worth popping in to a branch as they often have good deals on instore.

I know it says "Trade only" but DP says they don't ask any questions and seem only too pleased to make a sale.

You could also try Howden Joinery or Alsford Timber.

We have bought flooring from ukflooring a couple of times, including some engineered wood just this past week. Good quality and good service. They have a range of prices too.

Ilanak

There seems to be a few companies called Ukflooring, can you give me their website?
thanks

Sorry, I hope you don't mind me hijacking this thread?!

Can you say what your husband thought of the quality. Also, can he remember which wood it was.

Jayne10b ~ I asked him what he thought of the quality and he said it's not a high quality floor but it's ok for general domestic use and will take a couple of re-sandings. Very easy to lay as it has a click fixing method and at just £18.00 pm2 it's good value.

The flooring he laid was oak with a cross laminated soft wood backing.

Hope this helps.

I used the one below

www.jfjflooring.co.uk/

Very wide boards and very thick oak layer. Wouldn't recommend using a dye to finish. Go for natural finish as much easier to repair scratches

They were recommended by a MNer who was very happy with their service and the product.

Note that wood is not completely uniform which gives it a more rustic but less modern finish
