House or Flat in Barrhead, Scotland

Hi,
Does anyone know of any decent 2+ bedroom houses or flats to rent in Barrhead, Scotland, that accept pets?

I am looking to move there with my ds within an impossibly tight timeframe and trying to find a place when you have a pet seems to be quite difficult!

My dog is actually quite good in the house in that he does not bark but he does run around with his toys and he likes to look out of the window! In fact in my current house he sits on the window sill and sleeps until I come home!! I have checked with my neighbours and they never hear him at all during the day, bless him!

Also if anyone has any information on areas of the town that I should definitely consider or should definitely avoid I would be grateful!

Thanks!

Oh!
I did wonder what Xscape was! Wow... sounds pretty great!

Being in such a rural area we have nothing like that at all so I guess there will be plenty for us to do!

I just showed my little one all of the things there and his little face lit up! The snowboarding one really got him smiling!

That looks good too... not sure I will have money for retail therapy immediately after the move so I won't look up the directions just yet but once I get my first new wage...

Thanks for that midnight... if I can 'train' it then that would be good!

I attempted the motorways when I was looking at places at the weekend and God was I terrified... all those roads and junctions and speed limit... jeez I had no clue whatsoever!

At one point I was trundling along at 70 as you do on a motorway only to notice a small sign saying 50!!! eh!! I have no motorways nearme at the moment so this driving on proper roads lark is quite scary!

In fact I drive on single track roads where I meet the occasional car, tractor and cows going for milking! 13 miles to the nearest roundabout and then another 30 or so miles to the next one so busy motorways are bad enough without several of them crossing!

That is why I insisted on being near a train station for my commute!

Clearly I am a wimp

But thanks for the offer... once I have recovered from the trauma of trying to move house in 10 days - have not packed a single thing yet!!! then I shall look it up!

thanks again!

Hi, just got my internet, phone and tv connected up this morning so this is the first chance I have had to come on here.

I survived

I finished working my notice last Friday at 3, came home, packed more stuff, then loaded the van from 7 til 10 at night in the pouring rain, got up at 6 the next day to finish packing the kitchen and load it in the van, started the drive up at 8, arrived just before 11 which was quite good going (possibly some speeding tickets on their way!!!) and then finished unloading just after 3.

It was pretty exhausting with all of the stairs but thankfully it was a dry day and not too hot. I then grabbed a quick sandwich from Subway (first taste of civilisation where you can pop round the corner for something!!!) and then started unpacking.

I think I worked til about 8.30ish and the stopped and then started again the next day which was the Sunday from 10am until about 9ish that night.

I took the Monday off (only went out to time the train journey for Tuesday) as I was pretty stiff by that point but I had rebuilt all of my furniture including the bed and unpacked all of the living room, my bedroom, kitchen and bathroom which was enough to be getting on with!

Tuesday was my first day at work and that was interesting! I got to the train station in time, got on the train and then found that it was being diverted and kept stopping and starting so I ended up being about minutes late! Stressed does not cover it! Thankfully they were very nice about it all. I had deliberately timed the walk to the station and checked the journey time and the time from the station to work too.... all for nothing apparently!!

The next three days I got up even earlier and got the earlier train and sat around for 45 minutes at work instead!!! Have not dared try the later train again just in case!

It has been a good week so far - though my car insurance premium doubled because it is a high risk area for crime apparently (so Direct Line said anyway!) and I can see their point since someone stole the back two hubcaps off my new (only got it two weeks previously) car within 48 hours of me arriving!

But so far so good.... all looking reasonably positive so far!
