Underfloor heating - such a problem?

I'd like it in our new bathroom and kitchen but I'm told that it can cause problems with inaccessible leaks. But wouldn't electric ufh be a better solution in that case?

Any experience or thoughts, please?

There is another thread on this Winky - I have just posted on there - I have got electric

I'm no expert, but I think the hot water option has the risk of leaks, but we have an electric system in our kitchen which we are just about to replicate in both bathrooms. It is fab. Not too expensive to run and lovely with stone floors.

Jackstini/Niggle - (dragging up this old thread!! LOL)

A friend had EUFH in about 18 months ago and it takes hours to heat up...I am looking at putting it in the kitchen & bathroom, but from the experience she's had I'm not sure about it?! Do you have yours on a timer - how long does it take to heat up?

What happens if it breaks down? Do you have to open up the floor?

Now I thought that most systems came with a guarantee for fairly long period of time, so that if they sprung a leak they would be fixed. Because of the whole taking the floor up malarky.

I may be making that up though!
