Congratulations!
You have got time and hopefully with the help it will be quite quick.
Do you have enough boxes/packing material?
Put everything in 1 room that you won't need until after the move and pack that first.
Save a box for 'on the day' stuff - kettle, coffee/tea, mugs etc.
How old is dd - can she help pack her own toys etc?

its a really stressful time - we moved this time last year and the removal men turned up the night before (we were moving overseas and they were fromt he country we were moving too!) and we were still packing as they were putting the first few boxes in the truck.

it seems like a monstrous task but you'll get there and you can only do what you can do!

kids just make it even harder but if you try to pack away most of the stuff that she doesnt play with all the time - she's old enough to understand that you're moving and you cam really emphaisis ethe adventure side and hope she helps!

I'm supposed to be exchanging tomorrow, moving next Friday - and I can't take any time off work! Planning to simply hurl money at the problem, and get the removals men to do packing as well. So, forgive the thread hijack, but would love to know if I truly can just leave them to do the whole lot, or whether I should be 'preparing' my crap for them in some way.

a friend had the removals firm do the whole packing and unpacking and i think she said they did everything!

unfortunately that means you take EVERYTHING with you even the stuff that you probably dont need to keep!

Hope it all goes well - by this time in 2 weeks it'll all be over! good luck!

Definatly things "go missing" during moving time. My 2 dc (3.9yrs) had a few major things go missing but it wasn't a biggy like it would have been had we just taken them away without moving house. They were just so excited about the new house and new bedrooms and the small new toy that they each got that the piles of plastic that went missing wasn't missed!

In a couple of weeks you'll have moved in and be unpacking and still be throwing stuff away!! We threw away at both packing and unpacking stages!
