En-suite in front bedroom and soil pipes...

We'd like to put in an en-suite, or at least a small master bathroom for just me and DH but the only space for it is at the front of the house.

We cannot run the soil pipe to the back of the house (where it would join the other soil pipes), so are our only options
a) putting in a Saniflo loo or
b) running the soil pipe down the front of the house?

Am not too keen on either option, esp not option b as we live in a conservation area and not sure we would be "allowed" to do this.

Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks

Large shower cubicle, minimal frame, chrome fittings.
Am picturing quite a masculine look, possibly slightly art deco.

The room is quite small, dark (it faces North) and has a very high ceiling, so something classic and quite plain I think would work best.

Czech & Speake cubist fittings?

Yes thats the sort of thing I had in mind, a little retro but still smart and not chi-chi.
What is your bathroom like Bonsoir?

Totally boring (inherited) and needs refitting!

We went to the bathroom show at Porte de Versailles yesterday - can you tell?!

We have an ensuite at the front of our Grade 2 listed house - was a dressing room when we moved in but we had it changed to t a bathroom.

The plummer fitted a saniflow which is connected to the soil pipe by means of pipes that run up and into the roof space and then out the back of the house and then links to the soil pipe.

It really isn't a huge issue for noise - soprt fo a weird fan for about 20 seconds and as it is in our ensuite we know not to put anything terrible down it - DS has on occassion stuffed loads of loo roll down but it dealt with that ok.

We went to look at a bathroom showroom yesterday as the next job is the family bathroom - we are just having a shower the same size as what the bath is now - just a huge sheet of glass rather than a door or anything that moves to partition it from the room as not to make the room look smaller and I hate hate hate shower doors - am trying to convince DH to get jets that come out from the walls but he fell in love with the electric shower that you set the temperature from outside so it perfect for when you get in.

Bonsoir seems like you have lots of ideas for your refurb!

MmeC did you box in your saniflo to make it less obvious that it was a saniflo? I find
the mechanics are not that good to look at...

Like the sound of a large shower - will you get a glazier to supply the glass panel?

Haven't heard of a pre-set electric shower either, do you know who makes that? We have a feeble Mira electric shower in our downstairs bathroom which I'd gladly replace with something better...

Oh Pannacotta - one of the idea that DP and I both adore is a corridor double shower ie you have a tiled back wall with two showers side by side (preferably two large overhead showers as well as hoses on the wall) and a large glass panel parallel with the wall, but equidistant shorter than the back wall on either side so that you can enter the shower from either side.

And then you install a basin in front of the glass shower wall, with a mirror in the middle of the glass wall.

It looks amazing!
