Conservatory flooring

My 12 year old carpet in the conservatory has had it. I chose a carpet as my pfb would otherwise get too many hard bumps! And regretted it everyday since...

Now what to replace it with? No carpet and I'm not keen on stone. It's sw facing so gets v.hot. The conservatory is still used mainly as a playroom and many dirty pairs of feet come in from the garden. What flooring would you suggest before I make another mistake? Am vaguely thinking of wood/laminate.

check out www.georgeclarke.co.uk
Not only can you find fab tips about your home design/layout/interiors etc, you can actually register and ask George a question in the forum and he really replies in person.
He tries to reply that night but he currently says he's got a bit bogged down with replying.
Even if you don't ask him a question, it's worth logging on to check out the yummy pictures of him!!!

Hi luciemule, thanks for writing. Ogled George but couldn't find anything on conservatory flooring. Will keep trying.

ps I always watch his shows but find the segment where some woman goes off to exotic places to look at design totally pointless. What is the point of it?

How about Marmoleum? It's very hard-wearing and easy to clean.

Just for a moment I thought you couldn't spell "google". Then I had a look at George.

How about Karndean? DP has put it in several conservatories and loves the stuff - really rates it. I've just seen it in a house for the first time and it looks great. I think that unlike most lino the print is on the bottom - so even if you scuff it you don't lose the print.

luciemule · 11/02/2010 09:54

Ooh I love that jeanjeannie - not that it's my thread but looks fab. I'm going to think about that in our kitchen extension when it gets done.
Peaceflower - that woman didn't do those exotic places in the last series.George has a new show 'Restoration Man' coming out in April. Should be good.

Looked @ karndean, looks fab. Had something similar in kitchen and the fridge removal man dragged and tore the lino. But that shouldn't happen in the conservatory!

www.floorsonline.co.uk/p-1951-quick-step-950-homage-oak-natural-oiled-planks.aspx

we have this in our downstairs kitchen/diner/loo/utility.

its been down about 4 months and so far, its fantastic! not too cold underfoot, looks great, hardwearing, water resistant, dead easy to clean, and nice and expensive and real wood looking.

i also can recommend the company above who we bought it from...really competative price and great customer service.

Thank you chimchar, will take a look. Am a bit distracted at present, issues with dd.
