Have a v low ceiling in our bedroom and no ceiling light - side lamps on the switch on some weird circuit which doesn't work.
It's BLOODY dark - today it's been dinge-alicious all day
How much is it to get halogens installed? Will use low energy LEDS instead but want some LIGHT
TIA

Why dont you get the circuit checked out? If its a minor fault it would be much cheaper to fix than getting downlighters put in.

We had 3 amp circuits put in in the bedroom in our previous house (you use cmall plugs on the table lamps), it was great as you could control all the light fittings from either side of the bed - we had a central fitting too, but we rarely used it.

WHy not get a parky round to have a look and price up the options, he/she should be able to give the current circuit a quick test before you commit to putting new fittings in.
