Karndean & Underfloor Heating

We are hoping to have Karndean and under floor heating in our new kitchen extension however our builder says he is concerned that the underfloor heating could be damaged if something heavy was dropped on the floor as he thinks Karndean will not give enough protection compared with tiles.

Does anyone have both and if so have you had any problems? I phoned Karndean HQ and they have said they are not aware that this is a particular issue but said there is always a small chance of damage occuring if something very heavy was dropped.

Not sure if it makes a difference but we are looking at electric under floor heating not wet.
Thanks!

We have Karden in the hallway and alsorts has been dropped on it, including a wardrobe and not a scratch, I'd go for it, it looks amazing 18 months on which is more than I can say for laminate in the living room.

Do you regularly drop very heavy things on your floor?!

Thanks MillyMollyMoo. Bramshott - I am very clumsy and do regularly drop things although not usually very heavy objects! I was thinking of whether something like a heavy casserole dish or similar might cause damage?
