I LOVE Handy Moves. We have used them twice before and are about to use them again. They were recommended to me on Mumsnet originally.

They are very reasonably priced, very reliable and you only pay for what you use. So you choose the number of men and the number of hours you think you will use (we always go for the full 8 hours) and then if you don't use all that time, you only pay for the hours you use. And you pay on the day.

The guys we had the last two times helpled dh take apart the wooden beds and put them back together again in the new place.

not the answer to the question you asked but I'd just like to stick my nose in hear and give you the benefit of my experience.

We took out the removal company's insurance and then had cause to use it (they ruined two sofas). However, we then discovered that actually we were covered on our home insurance for removals. So we obviously paid extra for the removal company's insurance but then discovered that it was only a wear and tear policy whereas our own home insurance was new for old. But, because we had paid for the extra insurance we were obliged to use it! So we lost out two ways - paid for something we didn't need and then lost out on the pay out when we did have to claim. Please dont make the same mistake as us.

I am a veteran mover. Have spent a fortune on removals. Last time got 'a man with a van'. He was brilliant. Saved us £800. PM me if you want his details.

Clockwork removals. Not expensive - we had to move stuff from two different old flats to our new one (long story), they had to take a warderobe apart and put it back together and lever a sofa around a hairpin turn. Did it all perfectly and it came in at around £170 quid.
