Does anyone know if i have to move our boiler out of garage if iys going to be converted to a bedroom ?

We are having to convert the garage to a bedroom and while im quite excited at the prospect im wondering if i need to save a further 1000.00 for the boiler !
We have an old gas boiler which is wall mounted and heats the water/heating ect . If we have to have it moved - its kida outdated now (each year we have it checked the gas guy says -still going strong luv but you need to think about an upgarde ! ).

Does anyone know if we`ll get away with boxing it in or anything ?

our boiler is in an enclosed cupboard in the bedroom and it is considered safe but not to the new guidelines. so basically when we install a new boiler it will have to be moved but can stay where it is until then.I dont know if this helps

The boiler in this rental house is in a cupboard in the bedroom. It's hell. It starts up at about 6.00am-ish to heat the water for when we get up, and it's like chinese water torture!

Yes was just going to say I think you are allowed one in bedroom (and ours was in last house) but you might not want to because of the noise!

I hope this helps, I'm currently studying Plumbing level 3 which includes gas. We are currently, slowly working our way through Gas Regs. (Logic book). I'm pretty sure, as long as it's ventilated, it doesn't matter where it is.

Ofcourse, noise will be an issue.

The boxing just needs to be big enough to make sure there's enough ventilation around it. 15cm all round seems to ring a bell, but plumber will tell you.

Oh and space at top and bottom is more important.

Can't remember really but i know we had ours in a cupboard in a bedroom in it was fine. that was 2 years ago.

& to insulate for noise is fairly easy
