Amtico plank effect, brilliant, don't show the dirt. Lots of people have mistaken it for real wood.
Karndean is good too, not as expensive as Amtico.

Chipboard painted with chocolate coloured industrial floor paint...nowt so permanent as a temporary job. One day it'll be oak

Laminate, looks ok but not great (warm underfoot and soft-ish, though, on the plus side).

When we move, would like either wood or bamboo....no idea if bamboo appropriate for kitchens, but its soo great in our bathrooms that I'd love more of it. Anyone know??

terracotta(ery) ceramic tiles, all a bit different and with ripples in them - not symetric.

  1. umm, well I wash them, umm, ... periodically. they don't look dirty.
  1. no - ex chose them, I would have preferred something else, though they look good in the conservatory part. They are also too big and the grouting and a number of the tiles have cracked in the kitchen part which is on suspended flooring (compared to the solid concrete base in the conservatory).

I saw one with Kardeen (sp??P a few weeks ago, that looks good.

Engineered Oak which is hard lacquered from Kahrs. Brilliant - I absolutely love it and would choose it again.

Awful almost white tiles. They're too cold, they have uneven surface and uneven black speckledy pattern on so they are really hard to clean and always look dirty.

Given a choice I'd have light terracotta colour tiles - much better for looking clean when they are (and even when they've had a few feet tramping in from the garden)

Karndean and absolutely love it!

again..more thanks!

mrs pickles.....you're welcome!

have seen a laminate that i really like the look of....although i'm not a fan of laminate as such...its thick, and really sturday. is textured and is bevelled on 4 sides, so it looks like planks rather than flat, shiny surface iykwim?

here

lots of other lovely things seem to be a bit out of our budget....

Dorset red tiles.

we have a rubber floor with the raised dimples - still love it after 5 years! v easy to keep clean, still is 'glossy', no stains and is warm underfoot. was fairly expensive to lay down tho.
