Kitchens: Wickes? Magnet? Howdens?

I am about to get a new kitchen. A friend mentioned that she wasn't happy with the Magnet kitchen that she had installed. Was she unlucky? Are they normally quite good? Any feedback on other kitchen brands also appreciated.

We had a magnet kitchen in the house we rented between selling our old house and buying this one. No idea of cost, but it was a good quality kitchen.

We had an IKEA kitchen in our old London flat. It was fitted by the vendor and they’d spent more on backsplash, taps and granite, so it didn’t look cheap. They fitted IKEA white goods and those were really poor quality. Just after the 2-year warranty expired, both the fridge and the dishwasher broke!! I think it was branded “Whirlpool for IKEA” inside the appliances. Never again. We’ve got Neff ones now and they’re still going strong 7 years later.

Has no-one mentioned DIY Kitchens yet?! Definitely look them up, brill online designer tool, cheapish and great quality.
