Hi I wonder if anyone can help me?

When we bought it we obv knew that i backed onto a business (some sort of truck yard),but when we bought it it the business was surrounded by bushes or somethingg similar so you couldnt really see into it and they couldn't see into our house

Now over the las couple of years all the bush in that area has died off and due to thefactthey probably aren't doing as much work as normal their truck yard is full now and it just looks awful!!

We had a conservatory built last year an now when I am sat in my living room if someone was to look through their fence (which is a metal one pretty high but you can see everything through it) they could see directly into my house

We have just spent loads on having a wooden fence put up at the back to due to the fact that it is on a hill the fence would have to be twenty feet high for them not to see us

Would I be wasting my time or being completely petty to call them or email asking for them to plant some trees or something o make it less of an eyesore and more private?

just looking for some advice really thanks

You have no right to privacy, light or a view

I think you'd be better off planting something in your garden that will block off the view.

You do have right to privacy actually, people have been denied extensions on privacy grounds.

However as it was like that when you bought it, then you are on shaky ground. No reason why you shouldn't email them though, they might be really understanding people.

If they're being affected by the recession and not doing as much work it's not likely they're going to want to spend hundreds of pounds to plant and maintain foliage so you can have privacy and a better view.
