Has anyone alse renovated their whole kitchen with a baby as young as this? how did you copw with a non-functional kitchen? was it a nightmare? how long did it take?

The best time to do it before she can crawl if you ask me, unless she can already ?
You are kitchenless for about a week to 10 days depending on what you have done.

We completely replaced our kitchen when I was 8 months pregnant with 3 year old dd in tow. It was a mess, of course - BUT not actually as bad as you'd think. The microwave saved my life! And we had the fridge sitting in the hall. So it was manageable and worth it to have a better kitchen in the end, given that I seem to spend so much time in it Agree with Sorrento that now is probably a good time. Good luck!

We had major work done on our house with a ten month old crawling around.

By major I mean kitchen ripped out and replaced including digging up a concrete floor. Downstairs loo and upstairs bathroom ripped out and replaced.

All of our radiators ripped out and replaced and all our electrics ripped out and replaced.

Phew

It took around 5-6 weeks to be completed, it was November and freezing cold as well.
I was on my own as Dh was working away.
I coped by moving what we needed into one room, most of the time that was the sitting room. I had the micro-wave in there as well as a coffee maker. Our fridge was in the hall and our kind neighbour let me use her water/cooker as needed.

We coped, just, but I wouldn't want to go through it again.

Our kitchen was knocked down (well, everything back to bare brick and concrete) by DH with 3 month old DD lying in her bouncy chair in the middle of the chaos.

As others have said - do it now before she is too mobile. Set up a temporary kitchen in another room - ours was entirely out of action for about 6 weeks (January/Febuary) but we survived. As long as you have a fridge, a kettle and a microwave life can be sustained.

Good Luck.

did it twice - fine (for my children, obviously complete hell for any adults involved), especially as my ds was just starting solids; he was basically weaned on toast.
