Ideally neutral colours mainly but with a hint of colour. I don't think I like gloss but could be persuaded. Everything looks too modern IYSWIM?

Any ideas?

Agree with scrooged- ikea ikea ikea

I looked on ikea website and they all look pretty boring? Like something a property developer would out in IYSWIM? Do you have any specific ones in mind?

I lack vision DAMIT!

You just pick out the colours and materials you like and tell them what you want. You don't have to follow their sample ideas.

dizzydixies · 16/02/2009 22:18

navy, the good thing about this range is that you can go in and choose whatever you want from it

I took some ideas from a mock kitchen he had in his showroom and changed it to suit us

we have kids so gloss was out of the question, the worktop is a really nice walnut laminate as I was honest enough to admit I would never oil wooden worktops. the top two outer cupboards are the same colour as the work top as is the top half of the bi-folds, the bottom half is frosted glass. the handles are long rod handles and I have 4 massive pan drawers which are brilliant

the two corner cupboards have pull outs which means its not wasted space that we have to squeeze into and all the drawers etc are soft closing

I also have a lovely hidden cutlery drawer which is fab too

it cost us less than B&Q, MFI, Magnet etc all quoted and I got to design exactly what I wanted I never thought for a second I would be able to afford it but you can tweak it all about to suit your budget

its been in 2 years and there isn't anything I would change in it at all

scummymummy that's the point I'm rubbish at that - I'm quite creative in terms of paper and making things but rubbish at decor!

Thanks for the link dizzy... I love love love lima, it's lovely!

Oh- sorry! Missed the point completely. Well, good luck finding something.

navy, if you like the Schuller range find out your nearest stockist and get them to come over and design it for you. DH is a kitchen designer (& your Schuller stockist if you're in Cheshire ) and will design the whole room for his customers, including sourcing paint, tiles, blinds etc if they want. Good luck

dizzydixies · 19/02/2009 19:07

god SPangle I could've done with him, I LOVE my kitchen but the local supplier had slighter more old fashioned tastes than me

although he did admit I was right when he saw it in place

still love it to this day!

Mine's from Ikea and I love it. Solid oak/glass doors and drawers and stone-effect worktop. Double white ceramic bultler's sink. Stainless steel appliances. Modern-ish but not ultra-modern. It's called Ulriksdal.
