How much did your kitchen cost?

We've just had ours done It's about 10sq m I think. We spent:

£1,800 on the units (Ikea)
£1,200 on installation
£1,000 on range cooker and hood (Rangemaster)
£800 on American fridge freezer (Beko)
£300 on flooring (vinyl)
Prob about another £100 on decoration and bits and bobs

A grand total of £5,200.

Just wondering how this compares and whether we got a bargain.

My kitchen is 21' long and 9' wide, don't know how this measures up in sq m but feel free to work it out.
We bought it from Moben, there are no wall units as it is a very narrow kitchen and I didn't want it to feel 'closed in'.
We bought everything from Moben and they installed it.
We had the units (they are solid oak),
oven (Neff)
A 2nd oven/microwave (Neff)
hob (neff)
hood (neff)
fridge freezer (miele)
washer/dryer (miele) this is built in
dishwasher (miele) also built in
wine cooler

All the above including installation came to £9,000
The floor is tiled, the materials cost £190 and the work cost £200.
The walls are just painted, cost around £30.
The work tops are granite, I sourced these separately costing £3,000 including fitting.

I then spent around £150 on blinds and at least another £500 on accessories, kttle, toaster, crockery, cutlery etc etc.

So it cost in the region of £15,000.
It is beautiful and I love it, although I think it cost a lot of money but the standard is very high, the fit is great and did take a whole week and the work tops in granite were a luxury that I have always wanted.

It depends on the quality of yours whether you got a bargain or not and what kind of accessories you bought etc. It sounds like a fair price though.

RiaParkinson · 02/02/2009 22:04

just wood that my builder sourced not flash at all

sorrento · 03/02/2009 09:41

We're right in the middle of having it done, so I'm doing this for my own piece of mind as much as anything else.
£5200 for the units, dishwasher, cooker hood, sink taps etc all fitted.
The cooker was £400 and smeg fridge was my treat at £400.
The flooring will be about £1,000 but we need a new floor so it's not just tiles or whatever but boards going down first.
Plastering I think will be about £600 in total with lighting and the electrics I still don't know, that'll be a surprise lol

ilovemydogandMrObama · 03/02/2009 09:57

Tricky as we had a ton of building work done making the dining room and kitchen one.

Building work -- gas installation/gutting kitchen/putting down floor/tiling/plastering/rewiring/installing units/lighting - £5,000

Custom made units - £5,000 including installation.

About 30 square meters?

RiaParkinson · 03/02/2009 13:02

what are the units like ilovemrobama

ProfessorCalculus · 03/02/2009 16:23

Just remembered, £200 for tiling and plastering (bargain).

The units are Shaker style. Sort of.

Our carpenter made them, and I wanted them to be sprayed professionally. He only knew a guy who does motorcycle spraying

Anyway, it seemed to work...

RiaParkinson · 03/02/2009 20:04

interesting ilovemydog!

I am asking a local joiner to copy a kitchen i have seen and love.....i would love tips on the spray paint finish!

RiaParkinson · 03/02/2009 20:05

do those sums include your worktop Ilovemydogs?

RiaParkinson · 03/02/2009 20:07

i dont think mine is expensive...

If you take away the aga and the building work I am hoping to pay a couple of grand for units ( might be a wee bit optimistic) and then worktop and floor

bought the tiles in a sale so they are £250
