Is there a way to find out the actual sale price of a house that sold about 1-2 months ago?

There is a website called www.OurProperty.co.uk I think they update every month or it might be every 2nd month. You could try them.

There is on called "Down my street" (Or maybe "Up my street" ) That I used many moons ago.....

it usually takes a while for prices to come through to sites like upmystreet or mypropertyspy, worth a try though

www.nethouseprices.com/ is another useful site, and if you really really want to know about a specific house you can pay £6 to the Land Registry to download an electronic copy of that house or you can look at the house price index for a particular area for free, have a browse www1.landregistry.gov.uk

The house I need to know about is on the land registry, but it doesn't have a date on it. I am thinking it's from the last sale, rather than this one 1/2 months ago IYSWIM?

All the other sites, houseprices.co.uk, rightmove, upmystreet, homecheck etc and showing the latest sale on the street as Sep 2008.

I think if you really want to know about a particular house, if you ring the Land Registry they can help you, I think you have to pay £10 or £20, not sure if it's not an official copy. I had to ring the Land Registry recently about my own home and they were really helpful and nice. I don't think it has to be your home, though, as it's a matter of public record.

Do you know which agent handled the sale? They might tell you if you have a reason to know eg valuaing your own house.

If you wait until Feb nethouseprices will update to about either end of Nov or end of Dec. They update every month anyway.
