Policy to cover Electrics for Landlords

I have just rented out my house and am managing it myself. When we lived in it we had a British Gas Gas and Electricity Policy to cover emergencies. BG will do me a Landlord Gas policy but not an electric one. Does anyone know of a company that does a landlord policy for electrics ?

dont bother with either to be honest. I had a policy to cover both for nearly ten years and when you have a real emergency they take ages to come out, send youngsters who are only just qualified, and spend forever going back and forth trying to fix the problem. plus half the stuff they will turn round and say "wear and tear" and then you are not covered.

You are far better of, in my very very humble opinion, putting aside a premium and using local suppliers to help you out. In the short term it feels like you are shellingout more, but in the long term it works out cheaper and will save you time and effort.

hi womble, thanks for that. I was wondering if that was a sensible thing to do. I am in Scotland now and the house is near London so wanted some piece of mind. I am scared of the tennants having a middle of the night emergency and calling out the most expensive tradesman !
