After a very long search we found a suitable house in our town, great! But now wondering if we may need to pull out and lose the money we’ve spent so far.
Biggest issue is a willow tree about 3m away from back wall of the extension. There are no cracks, signs of heave and I thought we’d just get rid of the tree and be ok, but now wondering if that’s a high risk strategy.
Looks like there may not be a building completion cert to the extension, maybe didn’t even have planning permission, waiting to see.
Also it needs a new boiler/cylinder/money spend on electrics, more than we thought.
On the plus side it’s a good size for us, everything else we can afford was too small and we need extra space. Moving to cheaper area means long commute and crap schools.
Not sure what to do?! Plough money into doing extra soil surveys, tree surgeon assessments etc in the hope it’s ok or just walk away now
