Are insert stoves a good option for a smaller sitting room?

Hi,

I am in the process of shopping for a stove. The insert one would suit my sitting room best as it's a smaller sized sitting room but I am worried I will lose heat if it is inserted into the wall. Lovely salesman tells me the insert stoves throw out lots of heat.

Anyone here have an insert stove and you're glad you bought it?

I think if you go for a well-known brand from a reputable stove company, installed by them, you should be ok @BoundaryGirl3939.

Whilst we've never had an insert stove, the brands we've chosen for our wood burners/multifuel stoves (we've purchased three plus one that was already in a house we bought) have been great quality/met all the latest guidelines/eco standards etc. We've purchased two Charnwoods and a Dovre Vintage 50 model. The one we 'inherited' was a Coalbrookdale.

I've got an inset esse stove, which fits into the standard gap left when you remove a useless 60s gas fire and back boiler, flue had to be lined but that was all. Throws out loads of heat.
We only ever burn wood, live in a wooded place so all local, usually scavenger from trees people are getting rid of etc.
